LIFE DEPAETMENT.
THE Directors of the North of England Insurance Company beg to call the
special attention of parties about to effect Policies of Life Assurance to the following
advantages offered by this Company : —
1. Annual Bonuses. — Bonuses are declared annually in April. The Bonuses already
declared vary from one to ten per cent, on the sums assured, and exceed, in some cases,
62 per cent, on the Premiums. All Policies issued previous to 3 1st December will share
in the whole year's profits next April.
2. Profits allocated may be applied in augmentation of the sum payable at Death, cr
in reduction of the future Premiums, or may be paid to the assured by an equivalent in
present cash.
3. Moderate Rates of Premium. — The same Premium required by the older Office-:
for the Assurance of £1000 at age 25, will insure in this Office £1156 with Profits, oj
£1315 without such right of participation.
4. Policies purchased by the Company, and Loans granted thereon, according to their
acquired values.
5. Claims are payable three months after proof of death. When the sum assured is
under £300, the sum is payable one month after such proof.
FIRE DEPARTMENT.
During the year 1854, the North of England issued 2548 Fire Policies, covering
Property to the amount of £2,512,628, and the Revenue of this department for the year
was £16,807 17s. 8d.
Insurances are granted against Loss by Fire on nearly every description of risk, at the
lowest rates commensurate with the nature and position of the property insured.
Prospectuses and copies of the last Annual Report may be obtained at the Office of the
Company, 6 Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow, or from any of the Agents.
