THE distinguishing feature of "The Safety" is, that the Share-Capital will, in the
first instance, be the fund out of which all expenses, except those of collection, will
be defrayed. The Premiums will be invested, and will form an Assurance Fund, which
will at all times be kept intact, and of an amount amply sufficient to meet existing
liabilities. The surplus of assets over that amount will form the profit accruing to the
Company.
The Business is divided into two departments : — The General Department, which
comprises the granting of Policies for sums of £100 and upwards, the premiums on
which are payable quarterly, half-yearly, or annually ; and the Industrial Department,
which comprises the granting of Policies for sums under £100, the premiums on which
are payable weekly or monthly. The funds arising out of each will be kept perfectly
distinct, and the bonus to the Policy-holder will be proportioned to the profits of the
department to which his Policy belongs.
