ADVERTISEMENTS. 171
Endowments for children, payable at any period between the ages
of 14 and 21.
Decreasing or increasing scales of premiums.
ONE-HALF of the Annual Premiums for the first Five years may remain as a per-
manent charge upon the Policy, at Five per Cent, per Annum Interest:
One of the most advantageous plans of Insurance yet offered to the Public, and adopted
by this Company, is that of allowing
One-Third of the Premium to remain unpaid until Death, thus affording the oppor-
tunity to Insurers of effecting a Policy for £1500 at the Premium otherwise required for
£1000.
Partnership Policies are issued on the Joint Lives of two or more Partners, to
cover the Capital withdrawn in case of the death of either ; and when effected on the prin-
ciple of allowing ONE-THIRD of the Premium to remain unpaid during the whole term
of life, the expense is trifling, and is a mode of Insurance strongly recommended, being a
great benefit to the survivor, and frequently preventing much inconvenience : and this
will also be found a desirable mode of Insurance to the
Married. Joint Policies being issued on the above plan, the expense is considerablv
reduced, and a Policy for One-Half more secured. This important fact is also urged
upon the consideration of those wishing to make a
Marriage Settlement, a desideratum of the greatest importance to parties in all
positions of life.
There is one feature of Insurance that is not generally taken into consideration by the
Commercial World, namely, — the desirability of covering the loss likely to be sustained
on the forced sale of the Stock, at the death of the Owner. As, for instance, a Stock
worth £1000, would not, in most cases, realize more than £700; and, therefore, were a
Life Policy held for £300, the deficit would be covered at a comparatively small yearly
outlay.
Persons desirous of discontinuing their Policies can have them converted into Absolute
Reversions, provided they have been in existence for five clear years. For example, a
Policy now in force for£2000, effected in 1839, on a life aged 41, could now be exchanged
for one for £1030. 8s. 0d., free from all further premiums. This plan is highly favour-
able to Insurers, as it prevents a serious loss being sustained by the sale of the Policy.
Creditors and others, having a bona-fide interest in Policies, can have them rendered
indisputable securities.
This Company has Agencies established in all the leading towns and cities in the
United Kingdom.
Prospectuses and all particulars can be obtained at the Office, or from any of the
