M'ALPINE'S MORTIFICATION.
Founded, in 1811, by Mrs. M'Alpine,
who conveyed to Trustees her property
for the maintenance of poor men and wo-
men of the description given in her will- —
the former receiving annually £10, and
the latter £5. The Trustees are, the Dea-
con Convener, two of the Bailies, and the
Ministers of eight of the Established
Churches.

GRAHAM CHARITABLE.
This Society was instituted in the year
1759, and was incorporated by Seal of
Cause from the Magistrates and Town
Council of Glasgow, upon the 2d day of
Jan, 1770. None are eligible as mem-
bers of the Society except persons of the
name of Graham and their descendants, or
those married to individuals of that name
or their descendants. The entry money'
to strangers is £5. 5s , and to sons and
sons-in-law of members, £3. 3s.
