Incorporated by Seal of Cause from the
Magistrates and Town Council, aud
supported by Voluntary Contributions.
This Institution was formed in 1805,
for the cure of unfortunate females. The
Dhectors are chosen annually, and con-
sist of one from the Clergy, one from the
Town Council, one from the Merchants'
House, one from the Trades' House, two
from the Faculty of Physicians and
Surgeons, and six from the general body
of Subscribers.

Lothiaus. Entry money, £4. 4s., or
£1. 5s. annually for the four first years.
Object — to afford relief to indigent and
deserving individuals in Glasgow con-
nected with any of the above counties ,
the Lords Lieutenants of the three coun-
ties, Patrons ; James Somervail, Mer-
chant, President ; Alexander Hastie,
M.P., Edward Fairlay, Royal Bank,
Vice-Presidents ; John Mitchell, Mer-
