Every Bath is in a separate and distinct compartment, and quite private, insuring the
ntmost comfort combined with elegance. The rooms are all well ventilated ; the water
is heated with steam, rendering it pure and soft for the skin. To avoid the evils attend-
ing the use of Lead and Zinc Baths, the Proprietor has introduced Porcelain, Marble,
and Welsh Slate Baths. Every Medical and Scientific gentleman is aware that Baths
lined with Lead and Zinc are not so good, and that cutaneous or skin and other diseases
have been communicated by their use ; besides, it is a most difficult matter to keep them
clean. The Porcelain Baths are nearly equal to marble ; they are preferable on account
of not absorbing so much heat, and retaining the heat longer ; they are also unstainable,
non-absorbent, made wide and roomy, and in one solid piece. A Gold Medal was
awarded by the Society of Arts, some time ago, to the manufacturers of them. The
Marble and Slate Baths are also large ; the Bather is not confined at the shoulders ;
and they possess also the desired requisites, viz., non-absorbent, easily cleaned, and
unstainable. All these advantages combined, with the very Moderate Scale of Charges
