Where the Guarantee required exceeds £1,000, special arrangements are made, and
the rate still further reduced.
Eighty per Cent., of the Profits in both Departments belong to the Assured.
THE TIMES FERE ASSURANCE COMPANY,
Established under Act of Parliament for the following Purposes : —
1st. Assurance against Damage or Loss by Fire.
2d. Assurance of Plate-Glass Windows and Mirrors against accidental breakage or
damage.
This Company undertakes almost every description of Fire Risks.
Insurers paying in adoance for three, five, or seven years, will be allowed a con-
siderable reduction in the amount of Premium. No expense will attend the Transfer of
Policies from other Offices ; and no charge will be made for the Policy where the Sum
Insured shall exceed £200. The engagements of the "Times Fire Assurance
Company" are guaranteed by a responsible Proprietary, and an ample subscribed
Capital, whilst the Insured are free from the liabilities of a Mutual Insurance Society.
All reasonable expenses incurred at the time of Fire, in the removal of Goods Insured
by this Office, will be repaid. Loss of Rent Insured against during the period of rein-
statement of damage by Fire. Losses by Fire occasioned by Lightning will be made
good, so far as where either the Building or the Effects Insured have been actually set
on Fire thereby, and burned in consequence thereof.
ASSURANCE OF PLATE-GLASS.
The enormous amount of Plate-Glass brought, or being brought, into general use, not
only in the principal streets of the Metropolis, but also throughout the large Provincial
Towns, has suggested the idea of its Assurance against accidental breakage, it being
more or less exposed to danger from the crowded state of leading thoroughfares.
The risks undertaken by the Company will include Plate-Glass of every description'
whether used as Windows, Panels, Enclosures, Pilasters, Show-glasses, or for any other
business purposes.
Also, Looking-glasses, Mirrors, and other private designs, from every description of
loss to the owner arising from accidental causes.
The Policies will provide for replacing the same with Glass of similar colour and
quality to that destroyed, as speedily as possible after the receipt of notice of loss.
Special risks to be settled by Agreement.
The Rates decided upon in either department are as reasonable as is consistent with
safety ; and, in case of accident, the utmost promptitude and liberality may be expected.
All other requisite information in the several departments of Life, Guarantee, Fire, and
Plate-Glass, may be obtained at the London Office, or of any of the Agents of the Com-
pany throughout the Kingdom.
