GEOKGE AUSTIN
BEGS most respectfully to inform the Gentry and Public of Glasgow, and Scotland
in general, that having had Ten Years' practical experience in London, and Six
Years with S. Woolfield of Glasgow, he has now Commenced Business for himself,
when he hopes, by strict attention, with small profits, to gain a share of their patronage.
GEORGE AUSTIN,
(from s. woolfield's,)
190 TRONGATE (CORNER OF GLASSFORD STREET), GLASGOW.
MANUFACTURER of WRITING DESKS, DRESSING-CASES, TEA CAD-
DIES, WORK-BOXES, WORK-TABLES, CHESS and BACKGAMMON
BOARDS, GUN, SURGICAL INSTRUMENT, and SAMPLE CASES, and the
much improved BAGATELLE, with Elastic India-Rubber Drum Cushion of his own
invention. Likewise, the much-admired RACING GAME. The increasing demand
for this most Popular Game is strikingly evinced by its rapidly extended Sale throughout
England and all parts of the Continent. George Austin begs to inform the Gentry
and Public of Glasgow, that the great demand for this most exciting of all Games has
caused a great monopoly, a condition seldom favourable to either excellence or cheap-
ness ; and as George Austin has only a Manufactory, and not any large Retail
Establishment — which unavoidably must demand a large profit — he begs to state with
confidence, that he can Manufacture and Supply the Public with the RACING GAME,
and all kinds of FANCY CABINET WORK, fully Thirty per Cent, below any other
house in Scotland. All Goods made on the Premises, and Warranted.
Writing-Desks, Dressing-Cases, Work-Boxes, Work-Tables, and all kinds of Fancy
Cabinet Work, Repaired and Re-lined.
N.B. — On account of the great demand in Australia and other Colonies for the
Racing Game and Writing-Desks and Dressing-Cases, G. A. begs to inform
Merchants and Captains that he can supply them in large quantities for the above Mar-
kets at a great discount, and on the shortest notice.
Orders by Post punctually attended to.
GEORGE AUSTIN,
WRITING-DESK AND DRESSING-CASE MANUFACTURER,
190 Trocgate (Corner of Glassford Street), Glasgow.
