MEDICO-BOTANIC DEPOT,
270 BUCHAUAI STREET, GLASGOW,
r AS opened in ] 848 by Mr. RICHARD JOHNSON, and was then the only House
of this kind of any importance in Scotland. The encouragement and support
accorded by the Public of Glasgow and vicinity to Mr. J. were such as to realize his most
sanguine hopes, and to deserve his sincerest thanks. To the excellence and efficiency of
the Botanic Treatment of Disease, and to the skill of Mr. J0HM6ON, hundreds of grate-
ful hearts are ready to testify. Medical Botany is a vigorous young giant in the
•cause of Medical Science, whose growth and beauty is destined to overshadow the world,
and to fold within its saving arms the human race. Its progress, as regards the grown);.'
extent of its usefulness, is unparalleled by the history of any system of Medicine, ancient,
or modern. In no country are its benefits more needed than in Scotland, where Mercury,
Bleeding, and Blistering are the chief remedies employed by the Faculty.
The present Proprietor of the MEDICO-BOTANIC DEPOT, Dr. W. DALE,
?ias laboured many years to extend the benefits of this true and natural system of Medi-
cine, and his success has been unsurpassed.
Since the above Establishment passed into his hands, some improvements have been
effected. Vapour and Shower Baths for the safety, comfort, and convenience of his
Patients have been erected, the superior construction and arrangement of which are
iiigh'ly appreciated by those who understand the enjoyment and luxury of such Baths.
In order to conserve in perfection the properties of the British Herbs, Dr. Dale has
invented Machinery for closely compressing them into packages of various sizes, in which
state the air is excluded from them, and their properties preserved in integrity from one
•season to another.
A List of the Herbs, Roots, Books, &e., with their Properties and Uses explained,
•may be had, gratis, on application as above, or forwarded through Post on receipt of
Three Postage Stamps.
Dr. W. DALE may be Consulted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from 5 to 8 p.m.. as
.above, and at any other hour at his Residence,
94 DUNDAS STREET,
(corner of parliamentary road.)
