EMPORIUM V^^M BY SPECIAL
FINE ARTS. *HPf APPOINTMENT.
GIACOMMO W AHMETTI,
STATUARY & ARTIFICIAL STONE MANUFACTURER
AND MODELLER,
Of 6 Great Brunswick Street, Dublin,
WOULD respeotfully announce to the Nobility, Gentry, Clergy, and Public of
Scotland, his having opened a Branch Establishment in those large Premises,
which he has elegantly fitted up for the purpose, at
241 SATTCHIEHALL STREET, GLASGOW,
Where he has displayed, for Sale and Inspection, a choice and splendid Collection of
Statuary, forming a valuable and rare assemblage, in Plaster and Artificial Stone, of
Groups from the Egyptian, Grecian, Roman, Gothic, Flemish, English, and Native
schools, consisting of Colossal, Natural, Three- Quarter, and Half-Size Statues, Groups,
Busts, Quadrupeds, Bassi and Alti-Relievi, Vases, Fedestals, Royal Arms from two
feet to twelve feet, Jets d'Eau, or Fountains, &c. (for which two Medals were obtained
from the Royal Dublin Society), and other miscellaneous subjects. The Artificial Stone
manufactured by G. N. is well adapted for the enrichment of the outside work of Build-
ings, and of Churches, Galleries, Dwellings, Gardens, and Pleasure Grounds ; and, from
fifteen years' experience of its rare qualities, and from the fact of it becoming harder and
more dense from lengthened exposure to the atmosphere, he can confidently recommend
it to the attention of Engineers and Architects. — Specimens maybe seen at the Gallery.
G. N. having, with considerable difficulty, and at great expense, imported some of
the most eminent Specimens of Ancient and Modern Sculpture, relies with confidence
on that patronage which may enable him successfully to establish this branch of the
Fine Arts in Glasgow, and, from time to time, to import further the richest Specimens
of Art, as they appear, from the Studios of both Foreign and British Artists.
Reference can be made (if wished) to the Nobility and Gentry of Ireland, for whom
G. N. has executed Works.
MODELLING, in all its Departments, conducted by the Proprietor and his Assistants.
Plaster of Paris, of Best and Second Quality, and Patent Portland Cement.
CASTS TAKEN, from the Living and the Dead.
Goods properly Packed for all parts of the Globe. — Inspection respectfully solicited.
Artificial Stone and Plaster Works,
241 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, June, 1853.
