THE STABLE GREEN FRIENDLY SOCIETY.
Instituted at Glasgow in 1771.
Its objects are — 1st, An aliment during sickness,
and a superannuation allowance after the age of 65 ;
2nd, an annuity payable after 50, 55, 60, or 65 years
of age; 3rd, a funeral allowance at death.
The tables of contribution and distribution are
founded upon the Highland Society's report, and
were adopted in 1835.
The Society meets to receive contributions and
enter new members on the first Monday of Decem-
ber, March, and June, and on the Friday after the
15th of September, which is the annual meeting, at
which office-bearers are chosen for the following
year.

The object of this society is to promote the prin-
ciples of Phonetic spelling and printing, and to ex-

Members meet on the 1st and 3d Wednesday of
each month, from 8.30 till 10 p.m.
