•T^HE object of this Institution is to unite the ordinary and the ornamental branches of
-■■ _ education with such a liberal course of instruction in the Physical Sciences as has not
previously been attempted in schools, and at such a fee as to render the branches thus com-
bined accessible to the great majority of the respectable class of society.

Each pupil is allowed to attend as many of the Classes as her Parents or Guardians may
judge proper, and also the Courses of Lectures which are given successively in the Institution,
upon payment of Twenty Guineas per annum, according to the following arrangement,
viz. : Six Guineas fob each of the first Three Quarters, and Two Guineas for the
Last Quarter of the Session. Pupils who do not attend the whole Session pay six Guineas
per Quarter. In addition to this, 10s. 6d. per Quarter is charged for the use of Instru-
ments to each pupil who attends music.
In the class for the Theory of Music, the Teacher begins with the study of Melody ; pro-
ceeding afterwards to that of Harmony, in two, three, and more parts successively. The
pupils write exercises upon the different subjects of study. It is hoped that this course will
prove useful and interesting to Piano-forte Players as well as Singers.
Fees payable quarterly in advance.
l_ The Quarter days are, — \st October, — I5tk December, — \st March, — and I5th May.
Holidays. — The Four Sacramental Holidays in November and May, — a week at Christ-
mas, — Good Friday, — and the Queen's Birthday.
The Vacation includes the months of August and September.
Ladies, not Pupils of the Listitution, who may wish to attend any of the Courses of Lec-
tures, may obtain Tickets, at the Sum charged by the different Lecturers.
Miss Murray, who occupies one of the largest and most commodious houses in Moray
Place, in the immediate vicinity of the Institution, receives a limited number of boarders, —
Terms, under 13 years of age, 40 Guineas ; above 13 years of age, 45 Guineas per annum.
Besides the accommodation for boarders provided by the Lady Superintendent, a list of
respectable private families who receive young ladies as boarders is kept by the Secretary at
the Institution. The terms of Board are 35 Guineas; and upwards^ per annum.
