The followinii Signals are hoisted at the end of the Pier, to
indicate the Depth of Water : —

When the Ball is hoisted to the top of the mast, .... 9
Ditto, with a pendant under, 10
Ditto, pendant above the ball, 11
Two balls, 12
Ditto, with a pendant under, 13
Ditto, with a pendant above, 14
All these Signals half-mast down give half a foot more water.
N. B. There is always 3 feet more water in the Fairicay than is shown
by Signal.
