'Dundee directory' for 1911-1912
Not many of our digitised directories include reprints of photographs. A great exception is the 'Dundee directory' for 1911-1912 showing a workroom of James P Mathew & Co's letterpress machine department in Caxton House, Cowgate.
The photograph shows that the firm employed male as well as female workers.
James P Matthew & Co, printers, publishers, bookbinders, and stationers since 1854, produced and published the 'Dundee directory' between 1864 and 1927.
