A collection of around 320 20th-century items on scientific matters from the library of Peter Ritchie Calder, Baron Ritchie-Calder (1906-1982), Scottish socialist author and journalist. The books reflect his interests in in internationalism, the peace movement and in the public understanding of science.

The books have been catalogued individually and have the shelfmark 'Calder.'.

Acquisition

The collection was donated in 1987 as part of various manuscript deposits and donations of the papers of Ritchie Calder from 1984 onwards.
