Scope:Newspaper cuttings & other material 1887-1954 relating to the Upper Ward of Lanarkshire stuck into wallpaper sample books. Early vols mainly on Lanark. 1887-1892 far from complete; thereafter reasonably comprehensive but occasional missing / damaged pages
Description:A) Selective index compiled by Forrest. B) more complete index compiled by Library staff
Format:A) notebooks, one per volume, arranged (1) A-Z by first letter of keyword, (2) by year, (3) in page order. Each volume index (up to 1946) also recorded on computer as a Word file. B) Loose-leaf format, arranged (1) by year, (2) by page of volume, (3) by order of appearance pn page. Years 1910-1921 also indexes (1) by year, (2) A-Z, showing all pages for each entry.
