Noo, I'll sing ye a sang if ye listen,

As the time it does glide fest awa';
It was composed by me, and the title will be
" It's no' the clean tattie ava."

CHORUS.

       It's no' the clean tastie ava,

It's no' the clean tattie ava,

It hasna the ring o' a genuine thing,

It's no' the clean tattie ava.

Noo, the great railway strike that did happen

I'm sure it upset ane as' a'.

An' ye may think it's fun what the blacklegs

have done,

They're no the clean tattie ava.
Noo, bad luck tae a head men o' railways,

An may they sune get a doon fa;
For to work day and night its far, far frae right

It's to the clean tattie ava.

Nao it's disgraceful to see the young laddies

Get married wi' wages sae sma;
When they've twelve bob a week they've noo

got the cheek,

But it's   no the clean   tattie   ava.

Noo here's tae the wee chapper laddies

Wha trudge through the rain an' the snaw,

Au three hapnies a week that's a' he'll seek,
But it's no the clean tattie ava.

Noo success tae the Coonty Cup holders,

An may they defeat ane an a'
Tae me it seems clear they'll scope it this year,

Or they're no the clean tattie ava.
