THE BRITISH PROVIDENT ASSOCIATION FOR
HOSPITAL AND ADDITIONAL SERVICES
Chairman I
The Right Honourable The Lord Lloyd of Dolobran, P.C., G.C.S.I., G.C.I.E., D.S.O.
The Association has been established since 1921 to help people of moderate
means to provide for the cost of surgical operations and dangerous illness.
It helps you to help yourself. It enables you to help others.
It allows others to help you.
You desire the best treatment in serious illness for yourself
and your dependants —
The best treatment is, however, costly and, if the expense is
to be met out of your own resources, the effects may be
crippling.
All subscriptions are pooled for the benefit of the Subscribers
and the benefits are fully guaranteed.
No Agents are employed and no commissions are paid.
The B.P.A. is not a profit making concern and any surplus
realised must be used for the benefit of the Subscribers.
Alternative Schemes at yearly subscriptions from £1. 1. o.

KITCHENER MEDICAL SERVICES SCHOLARSHIPS
Medical services scholarships are awarded from time to time (a) to the sons of
officers and men, or of ex-officers and men, of the Regular Forces or (6) to the sons
of officers and men, or of ex-officers and men, of the Reserve and Auxiliary Forces
who served in the Great War, for the purpose of assisting them to take a course
of study to qualify themselves to practise medicine and surgery with a view to
obtaining regular commissions in the Medical Services of the Navy, Army or Air
Force.
The scholarships are strictly limited in number and the value of each scholarship
(normally within a maximum of £200 a year for six years) is dependent on the
financial resources of the candidate's family. The scholarships are granted on the
condition that the scholar, on becoming qualified to practise medicine and surgery,
will apply at once for a commission in the Medical Branch of the Royal Navy, the
Royal Army Medical Corps or the Medical Branch of the Royal Air Force and
that, if granted such a commission, he will render not less than five years' actual
service on full pay.
Candidates must normally be over 17 and under 20 years of age on the first
day of January preceding their applications.
Further details may be obtained on application to : —
