The following are the Objects of the Association : —
1st. — To find employment for, and to make temporary grants to, the wives,
families, widows, orphans, and other dependants of Sailors, Soldiers
and Airmen, both while serving and after leaving the Service,
2nd. — Thb Officers' Branch (instituted 1886), and the Royal Homes for
Officers' Widows and Daughters (instituted 1899).
(a) To provide unfurnished Apartments, rent free, subject to
certain limitations as to age and income, for the widows and
unmarried daughters of deceased Commissioned Officers.
(b) To aid with grants, as funds admit, the necessitous widows and
unmarried daughters of deceased Commissioned Officers ; and to
help Officers' children by obtaining their admission into Schools.
3rd. — The Nursing Branch (instituted 1892).
To supply qualified District Nurses to attend the families of
Service Men at important Naval, Military and Air Force Stations,
as well as to give instruction in matters of health and hygiene.
4th. — The Clothing Branch (instituted 1895).
To supply suitable clothing at home and abroad to the wives, widows
and families of serving and ex-service Men.

Military and Professional men can obtain gratuitous Medical and
Surgical treatment, or pay a small fee by arrangement with
their Surgeon. The staff is composed of specialists from the
principal London Hospitals.
