Majesty's Yards, if not entitled to civil superannua-
tion, shall be allowed to cornii such service as time
towards pension, on the above scale.
In the event of Comm'ssionert Warrant Officers.
Wirrxnt, Officers and Divisional and oUier Chief
OnVeis of (oast Guard on shore having sustained
Injuries on duty not nearly equivalent! to the loss of
a limb, or being disabled by s ekness ' ontracted in
the service, and not from want of proper care on
their own part, an increase of not more than £10
a year may be made to whatever s etiriog A llowance
may be awarded to them under the foregoing scaje,
provided they have not already received compen-
sation for the same.
For rnptures and minor injuries received on duty
gratuities shall be granted u°.der Article 19'3 of the
Regulations, at the discretion of the Admiralty,
instead of the above increase.
Whenever an application for a pension on account
of age. long service, or disability is made by any such
officer wbo has received a wound or injury in ihe
service, the Captain will direct the Medical Otf.i er
to make a report, which he will forward with the
application, for the information of the Admiralty,
Btattng clearly the extent to which r,h» injury affects
T.he iipplli ant. and the degree in which It iucapaci-
ta'es him from contributing towards his own
support.
Special Pensions, or gratuities In excess, of the
foregoing scaief or service ma». at the discretion of
tbe Admiralty, be awarded when special services
have been rendered requirlrg special reward and
such lower rates of pension as the Admiralty may
think proper may be granted to officers who have
been found to be unworthy of further employment.
Timeduring which an officer shall not have main-
tained a good character In the ships in which be
has served shall not be allowed to reckon as service
for Pension.
Commissioned Warrant Officers, Warrant Officers
and Divisional and other Chief Officers of Coast
Guard on shore in such cases as may be for their
advantage maybe pensioned on the scale for seamen,
their service in the above ranks being allowed to
reckon as superior petty time.
All Commissioned Warrant Officers and Warrant
Officers who have been dismissed from His
Majesty's service for what may be considered
venial offences in the case of seamen, may, at the
discretion of the Admiralty be allow- ed Naval Pen-
sions on the seamen's scale, provided they have
twenty-one years' service, or are from age or other
causes unfit for set vice as seamen In the Navy In
such cases the time served as Warrant Officers
may be allowed t" reckon as superior single petty
time under Article 1938 of the King's Regulations.
Th« Pensions of Commissioned Warrant Officers
and Warrant Officers will be held only during good
behaviour.
The case of a Chief or other Officer of CoastGuard
Cruisers, who may sustain a wound or injury on
duty, will be specially considered.
