RETIRED PAY— continued.
2. Chaplains entered nnder Order in Council 22nd October, 1906, for a period not ex-
ceeding four years and not retained by the Admiralty after four years' full pay service may
be awarded a gratuity of £600.
3. Chaplains entered after the 29th January, 1900, whose conduct of their clerical duties
may be unsatisfactory during the first 12 years of their service may be retired with
gratuities on a similar scale to that given below ; and the provision of Order in Council
of the 22nd February 1870, See. 16, 01. 1, which relates to retirement for non-service,
is modified by the substitution of 3 for 5 years.

WARRANT OFFICERS, COMMISSIONED WARRANT OFFICERS AND
OFFICERS PROMOTED THEREFROM FOR LONG AND ZEALOUS
SERVICE.
1. Commanders, Lieutenant-Commanders and Lieutenants of all Branches promoted from
Commissioned Warrant Officer or Warrant Officer for long and zealous service.

They shall be pensioned at E5 years of age, and at any lesser age, if found unfit for or
unworthy of further employment, and they may, by the permission of the Admiralty, be
pensioned at their own request at 40 years of age (see page 2279 as to age of retirement of Chief and
Head Schoolmasters).

SCHOOLMASTERS.
Schoolmasters to be pensioned according to their relative ranks on the scale for Com-
missioned Warrant Officers and Warrant Officers as above, except that Schoolmasters entered in
the rank of Warrant Officer to be pensioned on the following special scale, if invalided : —
To be granted a service pension of £10 for each complete year's service up to 10 years.
On attaining 10 years' seniority to be pensioned on the scale for Commissioned Warrant
Officers and Warrant Officers.
XII. — Retirement and Gratuity.
(a) Schoolmasters to be allowed to retire at any age, at the discretion of the Admiralty.
Such retirements in future will be allowed with a gratuity or retired pay.iaccording to the
scale A in the following table- (This provision will not, however, prejudice or affect the powers
of the Admiralty under Order in Council of 13th May, 1901. )(
