HALF-PAY— continued.
Rank.
Supplementary Lieutenants to be allowed when unem-
ployed, either through misconduct or at the Officer'! own
request, or when full pay shall have ceased in consequence
of sickness : —
Lieutenant under 3 years' service J

Lieutenants (promoted from ranks of Chief or other Gunners,
and Chief or other Boatswains) Carpenter Lieutenants and
Engineer Lieutenants promoted from Chief Artificer En-
gineers and Artificer Engineers when unemployed, except
for the reasons stated below, are borne for Full Pay on the
books of their Depdt.
The Admiralty have power, in cases of misconduct or pro-
longed sickness, to place Officers on temporary Half Pay,
such pay not to eiceed the half of the Full Pay to which
they are entitled.

Engineer Rear-Admirals
Engineer Captains
Engineer Commanders
and Engineer Lieu-
tenants (Senior List).
