(«) Navigation and Pilotage. (A/S) Qualified as Unit Commander oj

(A/S) Anti-Submarine duties.
(A.E) Denotes an Officer who has been appointed for Aeronautical Technical
Duties in the Fleet Air Arm.
(rja) Denotes an Officer who is qualified for Responsibility Allowance.
Officers of the R.N.V.R. marked ($) are " qualified officers " {vide Admiralty
Fleet Order 3880/40.)
R.N.V.R. {A) Officers and R.N.V.R. Executive Officers qualified as Air Pilot
or Observer marked (a) are "qualified officers" (vide Admiralty Fleet
Order 5025141).
R.N.V.R. Executive Officers marked {@ CF) {@ CO) ((*)S7) are "qualified
officers " of modified status {vide Admiralty Fleet Order 45811 4 J).
{EX.S), {M), {SS), {SS*), {Met). {Sc), {WjT) {Cy) against names of Special Branch
Officers denotes type of duties on which they are engaged.
I against name of Special Branch Officers denotes that such Officer is entered
for interpreting duties only {vide Admiralty Fleet Order 623/41).
(G) Denotes an officer who is qualified in Long Specialist Course in gunnery or
completed 18 months' service as specialist, including 12 months' sea service after
completing short course.
(Ge) Denotes an officer who is qualified in short Specialist Course in Gunnery
{vide Admiralty Fleet Order 850/40).
(N) Denotes an officer who has completed short course in navigation.
(R) Denotes an officer who is qualified in Officers' Long Course in P. & R.T.
(S) Denotes an officer who has qualified in the Long Signal Course.
(Se) Denotes an officer who is qualified in Specialist Course in Signals.
(T) Denotes an officer who is qualified in Specialist Course in Torpedo.
(A/R) Denotes an Officer who is qualified in Air Radio.
[act) after the name denotes Officer holds Acting Rank only.
