PENBIONS TO WIDOWS OF OFFICERS
*SCALE OF PENSIONS to the WIDOWS of the undermentioned
Officers of the Koyal Navy and Royal Marines, and Compassionate
Allowances to the Legitimate Children of the said Officers.
The aggregate amount of allowances granted under this scale to the Family of any Officer Is not to exceed—
(i I If the Officer was killed in action or drowned on duty £100 a year more than the amount of the Half Pay
of the Rank and Seniority of the Officer at the time of his death,
(ii) If the Officer was not killed in action nor drowned on duty, the amount of the Half Pay ol the Rank and
Seniority of the Officer at the time of his death.
N.B.— The sub-divisions A. and E. under the headinge "Special Pensions" and " Compassionate Allowance "
denote respectively—
A. That the Officer was killed in action, or died within seven years of wounds received in action.
B. That the Officer was drowned, or suffered other violent death, in an immediate act of duty, or that it
proved to the satisfaction of the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty that he died from the effects of
anyinjury or disease caused by extraordinary exposure or exertion on service within two years after his
beingfirst certified to be ill.
