Vote.— 1. Clothing to be distinctly marked with
the Cadet's name iu full.
2. Trousers to be made without pockets, and the
two working suits to have only one pocket on left
outside breast, and one pocket inside right breast.
3. There is no special pattern for underclothing;
4. Government bodding will be .supplied, [or which
a charge of Is. per month will be made. (This doos
not include sheets or pillow cases.)

Articles supplied at tho Colleges will be charged
1 to the Cadet's personal account; they will be charged
| at cost price allowing sufficient margin to cover
i expense of transit only.
REGULATIONS RESPECTING SEXTANTS.
Cadets when entering on their fifth term at Dart-
mouth should already have procured a Sextant in a
box, such instrument being obtained by parents; a
leather case Is not necessary.
Any new Sextant must be approved by the Captain
of the College and must have the following qualifi-
cations :—
1. Strong frame and well finished in all respects,
all loose fittings to bo stamped with the number.

3. Arc distinctly cut, and to road to 10 seconds up
to at least 125° on, and 5° off. tho arc, the vernier
being divided three divisious to the right of the
ind-x.
4 Shades to be of neutral tint and of satisfactory
densities.
5. A star telescope 'r.ot inverting images) to he
provided, and an inverting telescope with two eye-
uieces,oue of which to havea inacnifylng power of at
least 7 diameters. The telescopes and collar to be
fitted with interrupted thread.
6. Adjusting screws to mirrors to be placed in
po-iMons as little exposed as possible, preferably at
the base of the mirrors, to be recessed so ns to be
moved by a squared key or screw-driver and fitted
with covers.

i to be ground conical, to slip on, not screw.
8. Handle to be of good size.
I 9. Each Sextant must be accompanied by a Kew
Certificate, C)a9s A.
to A button over the handle besides the usual
chucks for keeping the instrument in place when the
lid Is closed. Box to have recessed hooks for seetir
ing the lid, and a recessed handle.
11. No Sextants will be accepted in which the
nnsilvered portion of the horizon glass is absent, or
the telescope so fitted as not to be entirely remov-
able in one piece, and the horizon glass should have
a minimum width of 1—1/8 inch.
12. The name of the owner to be on both Sextant
and box.
Sextants possessing the necessary qualifications
can be obtained from various makers.
A good 6j-tnch instrument can be obtained for
71. 10s.
Sextants presented to Cadets which have belonged
to Parents or others are not required to conform
rigidly to the standard, provided they are of radius
not less than thai, prescribed and are considered
suitable by the Captain of the College, but no Sex-
tant can be accepted unless accompanied by a Kew
Certificate, Class A.
