809 HALF AND RETIRED PAY OF THE ROYAL NAVY.
HALF AND EETIBED PAY DECLABATIONS.
The Declaration will be required when payment is made in respect of the third month of
the quarter, or when an Officer ceases Half -pay.

or /Vbroad, and is to be left at the Paymaster-General's Office one day for examination.

The Persons before whom the Declarations may be subscribed (provided they state the
Qualifications to attest) are as follows : —
In the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Isle of Man, and Channel Islands.
Justices of the Peace, Notaries Public. Ministers of Religion acting and resident within the
town or district where they attest. Commissioners appointed to administer Oaths. Officers
authorised to make payments on account of Non-EnVctive Services, who belong to the Customs
or Inland Revenue Department, or to the Department of the Postmaster-General, or to the
Army Service Corps, Ordnance Store, or Pay Department of the Army. Partners in banking
firms (the name of the firm being added to the attestation) whose names have been returned
to the Commissioners of Inland Revenue in pursuance of Act of Parliament. Managers,
including Deputy, Sub and Assistant Managers, of the above private Banks or of Joint Stock
Banks, including' Bank Agents or Managers for the time being in charge of Branches, and Sub-
Agents, Treasurers, Secretaries, Chief Cashiers and Accountants, at head offices or at branches
(the name of the Bank being added to the attestation). The Deputy Chief Cashier and the
Assistant Chief Cashier of the Bank of England. The Assistant Secretary and the Deputy
Cashier of the Bank of Ireland. Officers appointed to examine Vouchers in the Offices of the
Paymaster-General, and of the King's and Lord Treasurer's Remembrancer in Scotland. Persons
registered under "the Medical Act," if in attendance on the Person making the declaration,
