The foregoing provisions not to apply to Officers promoted for acts of gallantry or daring
under Art. 299, CI. 4, of the King's Regulations, except in the cases of Engineer Lieutenants,
to whom they will be applicable, subject to modification as follows : —
(a) The rate for each year's service as Engineer Lieutenant to be £12.
(b) The minimum, if retired at the age of 55, to be £200.
(c) The maximum to be. £250.
Any such Engineer Lieutenant, if advanced to the list of Engineer Lieutenant-Commanders,
to come under the regulations for officers on that list, subject to the proviso that his retired
pay shall not be less than the amount he would have obtained as above if he had remained
in the Junior Bank.
MATES.
Pension is fixed at £50 per annum.

(a) Officers under 40 years to receive Active half pay only.
(6) An addition, as specified, to be made for each full year of additional service, and a
deduction for each full year wanting, but in neither case to exceed five years.
(c) The retired pay of Engineer Captains and Engineer Commanders retired from those ranks
must not exceed £560 and £450 per annum respectively. That of Engineer Lieutenant-Com-
manders and Engineer Lieutenants retired from those ranks must not exceed £300 per annum.
(d) Half pay time and junior service to be reckoned as for Officers of the Military Branch.
MATES (E).
Tension is fixed at £60 per annum.
