Warrant Officers :—
Pensions and Compassionate allowances to the widows and children of the Royal Marine Gunners are
awarded on the same scales and under the same regulations as those awarded to the widows and
children of Warrant Officers of the Royal Navy (Order in Council 14 October 1913). In the case of all
other Marine Warrant Officers, however, Widows' Pensions and Compassionate allowances are
awarded under the regulations and on the scales laid down from time to time for the widows and
children of vvarranu Officers of H.M. Army (Orders in Council 29 June 1882, 24 June 1885, and
10 February 1905

Widows of Marine Officers who held Brevet or Honorary Rank on the Active List are granted the Pensions
applicable to that Rank, but the Widows of Officers who were given Brevet or Honorary Rank on or after retire-
ment, are only eligible for the Pension applicable to the substantive rank of the Officer when last on the Active
List.
Officers who voluntarily retire from the Service with Gratuities will be held to have forfeited all claim to
Pension on behalf of their Widows or Compassionate Allowances for their Children.
N.B.— The general Regulations governing the award of Pensions to Widows of Officers and .Warrant Officers to
the Roval Marines are assimilated, as regards Officers retired after 29th June 1882, to those governing the award of
pensions to the Widows of Officers and Warrant Officers of His Majesty's Army.
