2 Lt.-Col. Pole commanded the
12th Lancers in the Kaflir war of
1851-2-3.
3 Lt.-Col. Tottenham served with
the 12th Lancers in the Kaffir war
of 1851-2-3, and was promoted to
the Brevet rank of Lieut.-Col. for
his serv^pes.
4 Maj. Monro served with the
1851-2-3.
5 Lt.-Col. Fyler served with the
16th Lancers during the campaign in
Affghauistanunder Lord Keane, in¬
cluding the siege and capture of
Ghuznee (Medal). Also at the battle
ol Maharajpore (Medal) 29 Dec.
1843 ; and in the campaign on the
Sutlej in 1846 (Medal), including the
battles of Buddiwal and Aliwal, at
which last he was severely wounded
by a musket shot whilst charging
with the Squadron he commanded
a large body of infantry with three
guns in their IVont, and which he
broke through and dispersed, being
the last of the enemy’s infantry
which stood their ground ; for this
service he received the Brevet rank
of Major. Served also in the Pun-
jaub campaign (Medal) of 1848-9
with the 3rd Light Dragoons.

I Sir Hon. John Gumming served with the 11th Dragoons in Flanders, and waspresent in every action that
Occurred, including the sieges of Valenciennes and Dunkirk ; and battles of Famars and Gateau : also the winter
campaign of 1794 in Holland, and that to the Helder in 1799. Served also two years in the Peninsula, in
command of the 11th Light Dragoons, including the action of El Bodon, (wounded by a sabre cut in the arm,)
and battle of Salamanca, for which latter he has received the gold medal.
6 Capt. Oakes served with the 12th Lancers in the Kaffir war of 1S51-2-3.
7 Capt. Cureton served with the 16th Lancers in the action at Maharajpore 29th Dec. 1843 (Medal); and
with the 3rd Light Dragoons during the -campaign of 1845-6 on the Sutlej; including the battles of
Moodkee (severely wounded) and Sobraon, for which lie has received a Medal and one Clasp.
10 Capt. Clifton served with the 9th Lancers in the campaign on the Sutlej in 1846, and was present at
t\iO battle of Sobraon (Medal).
II Lieut. Gough served with the 3rd Light Dragoons in India and was present throughout the whole of the Punjaub
campaign of 1848-9, including the action of Ramnuggur ; passage of the River Chenab ; battles of Soodoolapore, Chillian-
wallah, and Goojerat (medal and two clasps). Served also with the 12th Royal Lancers in the Kaffir war of 1851-2-3, ancT
commanded the detachments of cavalry with General Cathcart’s column at the action of Berea, 20 Dec. 1852.
12 Lt. Swindley served with the 12th Lancers in the Kaffir War of 1852-3.
14 Lieut. Stisted served the Sutlej campaign of 1848-9 with the 3rd Light Dragoons, and was present at the affair f
Ramnuggur, the passage of the Chenab at Wuzeerabad on the 1st Dec. 1848, with the force under Sir Joseph Thackwell;
action of Sadoolapore, battles of Chillianwallah (wounded and charger wounded) and Goojerat (Medal and two Clasps) the
