I Sir George Scovell served the campaign under Sir John Moore, terminating with the battle of
Corunna, at which he was present as Deputy-Assistant-Quarter-Master-General. Afterwards in the
Peninsula in the same department at the head-quarters under the Duke of 'Wellington, from Feb. 1809 to
the end of that war in 1814, and was present at the passage of the Douro and pursuit of Marshal Soult;
battles of Talavera, Busaco, and Fuentes d’Onor ; sieges of Ciudad F.odrigo and Badajoz, battle of
Salamanca, siege of Burgos, battles of Vittoria, tbe Pyrenees, Nivelle, and Nive; passage of tbe Adour, and
battle of Toulouse. Served also the campaign of 1815, including tbe battle of Waterloo. Sir George has
received the gold cross and one clasp; and the silver War Medal with eight clasps.
J a Lieut. Kaunlze was present with the I ith Lt. Drs. at the siege and capture ot Bhurtpore in 1825-0 (medal
and one clasp); served with the 3rd Lt. Drs. throughout Die campaign of 184J in Aflghanistnn (medal), and
was present at Die forcing of the Khyber Pass, capture of Mamoo Khuil, storming the heights of Jugdul-
luck, actions of Tezren and Huftkotul, and occupation of Cabool. He served also the Sutlej campaign
of 1845-6, and was present at the battles of Moodkce (wounded), Ferozeshah (wounded), and Sobraon
(severely wounded); medal and two clasps. Served in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-9, and was present
at the affair of Ramnuggur, the passage of the Chcnab at Wuseerabad on the 1st Dec. 1848 with the force
under Sir Joseph Thackwell, action of Sadoolapore, and battles of Chillianwaliah and Goojerat (Medal
and two clasps).
14 Lieut. MacQueen served with the ICIh Lancers throughout the campaign of 1838-39 in Afghanistan, and
was present at the siege and capture of Ghuznee (medal). He was afterwards present at Hie battle of Maha-
rajpore on the-29th Dec. 1843 (medal) ; served also in the Sutlej campaign in 1846, and was present at Hie
affair of Buddiwal, and battles of Aiivval (wounded) and Sobraon (medal and clasp). He was present with Die
3rd Lt. Drs. throughout Die Punjaub campaign of I84S-9, including the affair of Hammiggur, Die passage
ot the Chenab at \\ uzeerabad on the 1st Dec. 1848 with the force under Sir Joseph Thackwell, action of
Sadoolapore, and battles of Chiilianwallah and Goojerat (medal and two clasps).
15 Capt. Wood served witli the 3rd Light Dragoons throughout the campaign of 1842 in Affghanistan
(Medal), and was present at the forcing of Die Kliyber Pass, capture of Mammoo Kliail, storming the
heights of Jugdulluck, action at Tezeen and Huft Kotul, and occupation of Cabool. Served also in the
Punjaub campaign of 1849, and was present at the battles of Chiilianwallah and Goojerat (Medal and two
Clasps).
16 Quartci-Master Ciahtrec served with the 3rd Lt. Dragoons throughout the campaign of 1842 in AtT-
ghanistan, and was present at the forcing of the Khyber Pass, storming the heights of Jugdulluck, action
of Tezeen and Huftkotul, and occupation of Cabool (medal). Served tbe Sutlej campaign of 1845-6, and
was present at tbe battles of Moodkee(charger killed), Ferozeshah, and Sobraon (severely wounded); (medal
and two c!a-ps). Served also in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-9, and was present at the affair of liam-
nuggur, the passage of Die Chenab at Wuzeerabad on 1st Dec. 1848 with Die force under Sir Joseph
Thackwell, and battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat (medal and two clasps).
17 Veterinary Surgeon Gardiner served with the 7th Dragoon Gds. throughout the Kaffir war of 1846-7
