Lord Cathcart served on the Holder expedition in 1709. Accompanied the Expedition under Sir
James Craig, andserved in Naples and Sicily, in 1805 and 0, as Assistant Quaiter-,Master-General. Served
on the Scheldt expedition, and was present at the siege of Flushing, in 1809, Proceeded to the Peninsula
in 1812, as an Assistant Quarter-Master-General, and was present at the battles of Barrosa, Salamanca, and
Vittona, for which lie has received the Gold Medal and two Clasps. Served also tile campaign of ISifi
and was present at the battle of Waterloo.
2 Lieut.-Colonel Spottiswoode served as Brigade-Major of Cavalry with the left wing of ihe Army of
Gwalior in 1848, and was present at the battle of Punniur (Medal). He served also in the like eppocity in
tl|e Sutlej Cltmpaign in 1340, and was present ut the battic of Sobraon f Medal),
