1 Sir George Houlton served in the Peninsula with the 43rd Light Infantry, through the whole of the retreat
to Corunna under Sir John Moore in 1808. Served also in the Walcheren expedition in 1809. Subsequently in
the Peninsula, including^ the retreat to the Lines of Torres Vedras in 1810, puisuit of Massena, actions of Pombal,
Redinha, Casal Nova, Miranda de Corvo, Foz d’Arouce, Sabugal, Castrejon, San Christoval, San Munos, and San
Milan; battles of Puentes d’Onor, Salamanca,Yittoria(severely wounded),Pyrenees, Nivelle,Nive(9th, 10th, 11th,
12th, and 13th Dec. 1813), and Toulouse ; siege and stoiming oi Ciudad Rodrigo, and taking of the outwork of that
place, Fort Rexnard; and siege and storming of Badajtz. Has received the Silver War Medal with ten Clasps.
Served in the storming of the Lines of New Orleans, and afterwards with the Army of Occupation in France.
2 Lieut.-Coloi.el FitzMaurice joined the RiHe Brigade in the Peninsula as a volunteer, in 1811, and served to the
end of the war, including the atLiir at the Mill at Freixadas, action of Sabugal, battle of Fuentes d’Onor, sieges
and assaults of Ciudad Rodrigo and Badajoz, action at San Milan, and battle of Yittoriu—skirmishing in advance,
he therewith two Riflemen, took tbe./irst gun captured that day, and secured seven prisoners; pursued the enemy
to Pampeluna, under the walls of which their laat gun was b.ken ; battles of the Pyrenees, carrying the heights of
F.chalar, and the lortified pa-s of Beta; defended an orchaid in front of Arcangues lor a whole day with one sub¬
division ; battles of the Nivelle and the Nive, together with those near Bayonne on the 10th, 11th and 13th Dec.,
1813; the brilliant action with Soult’s rear-guard at Tarbes, and battle of Toulouse, besides numerous minor
affairs. He served also the campaign of 1815, led the advanced guard at the battle ot Quatre Bras, where he had
the honor ot firing the first shot. Leg broken at the storming of Badajoz, and severely wounded in the thigh at
Quatre Bras. Received the Hanoverian Order, the Waterloo Medal, and the Silver W ar Medal with eight Clasps.
3 Sir John Kincaid joined the Rifle Brigade in 1809, and retired from it as a Captain in 1831. He served on the
Walcheren expedition in 1809; and subsequently in the Peninsula, including the retreat to the lines of Torres
Vedras in 1810, occupation of them, pursuit of Massena, actions at Santarem, Pombal, Redinha, Casal Nova, Foz
d’Arouce (wounded), and Sabugal, battle of Fuentes d’Onor, actions near Puente Guinaldoand Aldeade Ponte, siege
and storming of Ciudad Rodrigo,—was one of the leaders of the storming party of the light division ; siege and storm¬
ing of Badajoz, actions on the heights of San Christoval and at Castrejon, battle of Salamanca, capture of Madrid,
retreat from Salamanca, in which he was acting Brigade-Major to the 1st Brigade of the light division ; actions at San
Munos and San Milan, battle of Vittoria, and three days’ severe skiimisbing in iollowing the enemy to Pampeluna,
which ended in the capture of their last gun by the Rifle Brigade: battles of the Pyrenees, storming the heights
of Echalar, storming the fortified heights of Bera, battles of the Nivelle and the Nive, together with tho-e near
Bayonne on the 9th, lOili, 11th, 12th, and 13th Dec. 1813; action at Tarbes, and battle of Toulouse, besides nume¬
rous minor affairs. Served also the canipaign of 1815, and was present at the battle of Quatre Bras, the retreat on
the following day, battle of Waterloo, and capture of Paris: at Waterloo his horse was wounded in five places and
killed under him. He has received the Silver War Medal with nine Clasps.
4 Captain Phibbs served five years with the 48th Regt. in India, including the campaign against the Rajah of
Coorg, in April 1834. b & j
5 Captain Wardlaw served during the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46; was present at the battles of Moodkee and
Ferozeshah (wounded), and has received a Medal and Clasp.

6 Captain Kenworthy served with the Field Force in the Docab (Southern Mahratta country) in 1827 and 28; and
with the expedition to Malacca and Singapore in 1834 and 35. Setved with General De la Motte’s H id Force in
Nov. and Dec. 1844 ; commanded two companies as an escort to the Political Agent, and likewise a Local Corps,
during the campaign in the Southern Mahialtu country at that period.
7 Captain Hobson served with the 10th Foot in the Sutlej Campaign in 1846, and was present at the battle o
Sobraon (Medal).
