1 Major Law joined the army in Spain as a volunteer in ISOS, and was attached to the 71st regiment;
served with it in action at Lugo, on the retreat to, and at the battle of Corunna; served at the siege of
Flushing, and the subsequent occupation of Walcheren; twice wounded by musket balls at Fuentes d’Onor,
8d and 5th May, 1811; severely wounded on the advance to Toulouse 21 March, 1814; continued uninter¬
ruptedly on service with his regiment (the 71st) in Portugal, Spain, and France, until the separation of the
army at Bourdeaux in 1814; embarked in July, 1814, for New Orleans, but was recalled and sent to Bel¬
gium; was present with his regiment at Waterloo in Sir Frederick Adam’s brigade, where he was very
severely wounded by a cannon shot, which also killed his horse ; served subsequently three years in France
with the army of occupation. Major Law has served fifteen years in the Colonies since the Peace.
2 Col. Sail served at the taking of Maldonado and Monte Video in 1817 ; and in the Peninsula, from 1818 to
the end of the war, and was present at the repulse of the sortie from Bayonne. Brevet Lieut.-Col.
22 July, 1830.
3 Major Jefifares was engaged at New Orleans, 8th Jan. 1815, and subsequently at the capture of
Guadaloupe.
4 Lieut. Mason served in the Peninsula, and was severely wounded in the right hip at the battle of the
Niveile. Served also in the American war, and was severely wounded at Niagara; in the right arm, where
the ball still remains; in the neck, and seven buck shot wounds in the breast, and also one in the left arm.
