1 Sir Thomas Brisbane joined the Duke of York’s army in the beginning of the war, and was present in
every action except that of the 22nd May 03, when he was confined from a wound received in the action
of the 18th of the same month. He was subsequently present at the taking of various islands, forts, &c. in
the West Indies. Sir Thomas has received a cross and one clasp for Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Orthes, and
Toulouse, Where he was wounded.
