with the 56th Regiment in the Crimea on the
25th Aug. 1855, served in the trenches at the siege
of Sebastopol, and were present at the final
assault (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
Served also in India during the mutiny in 1858.
3 Captains Huskisson and Bell served with
the Bombay Column of the Goa Field Force
against the Dessai rebels from Feb. to June 1858,
including several skirmishes (Medal).

1 Lt.Colonel Berry served with the 24th Regt. in thePunjaub compaign of 1848-49, including the passage of the
Chenab, and battles of Sadoolapore, Chillianwallah (slightly wounded), and Goojerat (Medal with Two Clasps).
Served in India during the mutiny of 1857-58; commanded the station of Murree (Punjaub) when attacked by
hillmen on the night of 1st Sept. 1857, and during proceedings of the three following days. In Nov. 1857 raised,
under orders of Sir John Lawrence, at Lahore a Battalion of Sikhs 1200 strong, and proceeded to North-Western
Provinces with it in Jan. 1858 ; was attached to Maxwell’s Column and present at engagements at Ooryah and
Sheerghurghal and at the taking of Calpee (Medal With Clasp for Central India).
4 Major White served with the 50th Regiment in New Zealand from 15th Nov. 1863 to 2nd Oct. 1866; led the
storming party at the assault and capture of Rangiawhia (mentioned in despatches), present at the repulse of the
enemy’s attack on the Camp at Nukumaru, appointed Aide de Camp to Brigadier General Waddy 26th Jan. 1865,
and served on the Staff to 7th April 1866 (Medal, and Brevet of Major).
5 Captain Fleming served with the 30th Regiment in the Crimea from the 30th May 1855, including the siege and
fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
6 Major Bernard served in the Crimea with the 82nd Regiment from the 2nd September 1855, including the siege
and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
8 Quarter Master Leech served with the 57th Regiment with the Column under Colonel Warre on outpost duty on
the line of the Taptee river in co-operation with the Central India Field Force in 1858. Served in the New Zealand
war in 1861 at the Waitara before Te Arei’s Pah; also during the war in 1863-66 in the Provinces of Taranaki and
Wanganui (Medal).
