1 Sir Richard England served at the attack on
Flushing in 1809, and in the operations in Sicily
in 1810-11. Joined the Army in Paris in 1815.
Commanded the 75th Regiment several years.
Commandant of Kaffraria, and employed through¬
out the Kaffir war of 1836-37 (Medal). Commanded
the Bombay Division in the Affghan war of 1842
(Medal), including actions of 28th March and 28th
April in the Pisheen Valley in their march to Can-
dahar, and of the 17th and 18th August on the
Kojuck Heights, and 10th October in the Bolan
Pass in their retreat to the Indus. Commanded
the 3rd Division of the Crimean Army in 1854-55,
including the battles of Alma and Inkerman,
affair of 18th June, and the siege duties against the
Russian forts which covered the south side of
Sebastopol from their first investment till 2nd
August 1855 (Medal with Clasps, GCB., 1st Class
of the Medjidie, Grand Officer of the Legion of
Honor, and Sardinian Medal).

3 Colonel Rowlands served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 41st Regiment, including the battles of
Alma and Inkerman (severely wounded), siege and fall of Sebastopol, sortie of 26th October, attack of the Quarries
on 7th June and twice on the Rifle-pits, attacks of the Redan on the 18th June and 8th September—wounded (Medal
with three Clasps, Victoria Cross, Brevet of Major, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and
Turkish Medal).
4 Lt.Colonel Allan served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 41st Regiment, including the battles of Alma
and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, repulse of the sortie on 26th October, and assault of the Redan on the
8th September (Medal with Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and Turkish Medal).
5 Major Wavell served with the 41st Regiment in the Crimea from nth July 1855, including the siege and fall of
Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
6 Major Haydock served with the 90th Light Infantry in the Crimea from the 10th August 1855, including the
siege and fall of Sebastopol, and was with the storming party at the assault of the Redan on the 8th September—
wounded (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Also served during the Indian campaign of 1857-58, and was
present with Havelock’s Column at the actions of Mungawar and Alumbagh, relief and subsequent defence of Luck¬
now, defence of the Alumbagh under Outram, siege and fall of Lucknow (Medal with two Clasps, and a year’s
service).
7 Major East served with the 82nd Regiment in the Crimea from the 2nd September 1855, and was present a
the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Also in the Indian campaign in 1857, and
was severely wounded at Cawnpore on the 26th November (Medal). Served as Assistant Quartermaster General
with the Chittagong column of the Lushaie Expeditionary Force in 1871*72 (mentioned in despatches, received the
thanks of the Governor-General in Council, Medal with Clasp, and Brevet of Major),
8 Captain Campbell was attached to the 32nd Light Infantry in 1858-59, and served with it in the Movable Column
under Lt.Colonel Carmichael which went in pursuit of Beni Maddoo, and drove him and his troops across the Gogra.
10 Lieut. Westropp served with the 80th Regiment, with the Left Attack, during the Bhootan Expedition of i86q
(Medal with Clasp).
