1 Lieut.General Rumley served with the 6th Regiment throughout the Kaffir war of 1847 (Medal).
2 Colonel Freer served as a volunteer with the 75th Regiment at the action of Budlee-ke-Serai on 8th June 1857,
and in all the subsequent affairs in which that Regiment was engaged during the siege of Delhi. Commanded
the “Stables” Piquet at the capture of four 9-pounders q,t “Ludlow Castle,” on the 12th August; was severely
wounded near the Bum Bastion on the afternoon of the assault of Delhi (twice mentioned in despatches, Brevet of
Major, Medial with Clasp).
3 Major'Cowell served with the 75th Regiment at the battle of Budlee ke Serai, 8th June 1857, and at the siege of
Delhi (Medal with Clasp).
8 Major Geddes and Captain Caine served on the North-West Frontier during the Indian mutiny in 1857-59 (Medal).
