65 Colonel Ckermside served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 as Adjutant to the siege train, including the
siege of Sebastopol; was present at the battle of Inkerman with the two heavy 18-pounder guns under Colonels
Gambler and Dickson (Medal with two Clasps, 5th Class of the Medjidie, Turkish' Medal, and Brevet of Major).
60 Colonel Anson served in the Crimean campaign from May to September 1855, including the siege of
Sebastopol, in the Trenches with the siege train, and at the bombardments of 6th and 17th June (Medal with Clasp,
5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
67 Colonel S. E. Gordon served throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma,
Balaklava, and Inkerman, siege and capture of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, Sardinian and Turkish Medals,
Brevets of Major and Lt.Colonel, and 5th Class of the Medjidie, served in India in 1857-58, and was present at the
actions of Pandora and Doundeakeira (mentioned in despatches, Medal, and CB.).
69 Colonel Boothby served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the affair of M‘Kenzie*s Farm, the
battles of Alma and Inkerman, the siege of Sebastopol, and repulse of the sortie on the 26th Oct. 1854 (Brevet
of Major, Medal with three Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish
Medal).
70 Colonel Hon. E. T. Gage served in the pastern campaign of 1854-55 as Brigade Major to the Royal Artillery,
and was present at the affairs of Bulganac and M'Kenzie's Farm, the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman;
capture of Balaklava, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, Brevets of Major and Lt.Colonel,
Sardinian and Turkish Medals, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and CB.); was also present with the Turkish Army under
Omar Pasha during the operations at Rudchuck and Giurgevo, in the summer of 1854, and has received the Gold
Medal for the campaign on the Danube, awarded to him by the Turkish Government.
71 Colonel Thring served in the Crimean campaign from March 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol
(Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served in India in 1857-58, including the actions of Secundra, Chanda,
and Sultanpore, siege and capture of Lucknow, and relief of Azimghur (five times mentioned in despatches,
Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).
72 Colonel Bent was nominated to the 4th Class of the Medjidie for services as Brigade Major with the late
Osmanli Horse Artillery.
73 Colonel Tapper served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Balaklava and Inkerman
(wounded), the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and repulse of the sortie on the 26th October 1854 (Medal with three
Clasps, Brevet of Major, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
74 Colonel Heyman served in the Crimean campaign from March 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebas¬
topol (Medal with Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
75 Colonel Hoste served in the Eastern campaign of 1854, and up to February 1855, including the battles of
Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, the siege of Sebastopol, and repulse of the sortie on the 26th October 1854 (Brevet
of Major, Medal with four Clasps, CB., 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
77 Colonel Singleton served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the affairs of Bulganac and
M'Kenzie’s Farm, the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and repulse of
the sortie on the 26th October 1854 (Brevet of Major, Medal with four Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th
Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Served in India in 1858, and commanded the Artillery in the repulse of
the mutinous Sepoys at Mooltan on 31st March.
78 Colonel Reilly went to the Crimea as Aide de Camp to Brigadier General Fox Strangways; served in the
Trenches during the winter of 1854-55 and was appointed Adjutant to the Siege Train in February 1855, and subse¬
quently Brigade Major; was present at the bombardments of the 9th April, 6th and 17th June, 17th August, and
8th September. After the fall of Sebastopol he was appointed Deputy Assistant Quarter Master General at Head
Quarters (three times mentioned in despatches, Medal with Clasp, CB., Brevet of Major, Knight of the Legion of
Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Appointed to accompany the Prussian Army in the cam-
Eaign of 1866. Appointed Military Attach^ to the French Army in 1870, and being attached to the Army of the
oire, was present at the various operations around Orleans including the battles of the 2nd (battle of Artqnay) 3rd
and 4th December, which resulted m the evacuation of the city, when he was taken prisoner by the German Army
and sent to England 'Officer of the Legion of Honor).
79 Colonel C. H. Smith served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and (as a Volunteer attached to the Highland
Division) in the Trenches with the siege train at the bombardments of 6th and 17th June; was present at the
battle of the Tchemaya (Medal with Clasp, Brevet of Major, and Turkish Medal). Served in the Indian Mutiny
campaign of 1857-58, including the battle of Cawnpore on the 6th December, the affair of Kalee Nuddy, and occu¬
pation of Futtehghur. Commanded the Artillery at the affair of Kankur, as also the Artillery in Brigadier Hale’s
Column in 1858-59, including operations before and taking of the fort of Sandee (twice mentioned in despatches,
Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal, and CB.).
f° Colonel J. L. Bolton served in the Crimean campaign of 1854-55, including the siege of Sebastopol (Medal
with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served in India in 1857-58, and commanded the Artillery in the action at Per-
tabghur—wounded (Medal).
82 Colonel Godby served in the Crimean campaign from May 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol,
in the Trenches with the siege train, including the bombardments of 6th and 17th Juno (Medal with Clasp, Brevet
of Major, and Turkish Medal).
83 Colonel D. Sarstield Greene served in India as Aide de Camp to Sir John Dupuis in 1857-58; commanded
the Field Artillery at the action of Pandoo Nuddec, and also at the several engagements on the 27th and 28th
November; was present at the operations round Cawnpore, and its relief by Lord Clyde; present at the battle of
Cawnpore on the 6th December 1857 (four times mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal, and CB.).
84 Colonel Barry served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and
Inkerman, and siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, Brevet of Major, Sardinian and Turkish
Medals, and 5th Class of the Medjidie). Served in India in 1857-58, including the relief of the Garrison’of Lucknow,
battle of Cawnpore, siege and capture of Lucknow—severely wounded (twice mentioned in despatches, Brevet of
Lt.Colonel, Medal with two Clasps). Served with the expedition to China in i860, and was present at Sinho,
Tangku, capture of Taku Forts, actions near Tangchow, and surrender of Pekin {CB. Medal with two Clasps).
85 Colonel Elgee was present at the capture of Canton in Dec. 1857 (Brevet of Major, Medal with .Clasp).
8C Colonel Oarthew served in the Crimean campaign from December 1854, in the Trenches with the siege train
before Sebastopol, including the bombardments of 9th April and 6th and 17th June (Medal with Clasp, Brevet of
Major, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidic, and Turkish Medal).
87 Lt.Colonel Hay served as Assistant Adjutant General of Artillery with the expedition to China in i860, and was
present at Sinho, Tangku, capture of Taku Forts, actions near Tangchow, and surrender of Pekin (Brevet of Major,
Medal with two Clasps).
88 Lt.Colonel Spurway served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of Inkerman, siege and

89 Colonel Michell served in the Eastern campaign of 1854, and up to May'1855, including the battles of Alma

and 5th Class of the Medjidie). Served in the Indian campaign of 1857-58, including the storm and capture of
Meangunge, siege and capture of Lucknow, and commanded the Royal Horse Artillery at the affair of Tigree,
relief of Azimghur. action near Azimutghur, operations in the Jungle, and capture of Jugdespore, attack and
capture of Tiroul (four times mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with Clasp, and CB.).
90 Lt.Colonel Bedingfeld served with the expedition to China in i860, and was present at the capture of the Taku
Forts and surrender of Pekin (Brevet of Major, Medal with two Clasps).
91 Lt.Colonel Govan served with the expedition to China in i860, and was present at Sinho, Tangku, and capture of
Taku Forts (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp). Also served in the operations against the Taepings in the
vicinity of Shangha in April and May 1862.
92 Lt.Colonel Ingilby served in the Eastern campaign of 1854, and up to March 1855, including the affairs of Bul¬
