i» Quarter Master Simpson served with the 42nd Highlanders throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, in¬
cluding the battles of Alma and Balaklava, expedition to Kertoh and "Xenikale, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal
with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Served also the Indian campaign of 1857-58, including the actions at
Cawnpore (6th Dec. 1857), Seraighat, Kudygunge, and Shumshabad, siege and fall of Lucknow and assault of the
Martimere and Banks’ Bungalow, attack on the Port of Rooyah, action at Allygunge, attack and capture of Bareilly
(Medal with Clasp, and Victoria Cross). . . ,,
15 Quarter Master Sladden served throughout the Crimean campaign of 1854-55J including the battles of Alma,
Balaklava and Inkerman, repulse of a sortie on the nth May, attack of the Quarries on 9th June, siege and fall of
Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, Medal with Gratuity of/is for distinguished Conduct in the Field, Knight of
the Legion of Honor, Turkish Medal). Served in the New Zealand war from Jan. 1864 to March 1865, including
the attack on the Gate Pah (Medal).
18 Quarter Master Storey served with the 2nd Battahon 60th Rifles throughout the Kaffir war of 1851-53 (Medal).
Also the campaign of i860 in North China (Medal with two Clasps).
17 Quarter Master Woodruff served with the 97th Regiment in the Crimea from the 20th Nov. 1854, including the
siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). ,
i® Quarter Master Munro served in the Crimea from 13th June 1855, including the expedition to Kertch, siege and
fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served at the siege and capture of Kotah on 30th
March 1858 (Medal with Clasp).
