7 Colonel Street served in the 98th Regt. with the expedition to the North of China in 1842 (Medal)
and was present at theattnek and capture of Chinkiangfoo.and at the landing before Nankin. Embarked
for the Crimea 18 th Sept. 1854, as Brigade Major, 1st Bri-ade, 4 th Division; was present at the battles of
Balaklava and Inkerman,siege and iail ol Sebastopol, and expedition to Kinbourn (Medal and three Clasps.
Brevet Major, CB., Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 4th Class of the Medjidie).
3 Colonel Wright served during the Katlir war of 1B46-47 ; also that of 1852-53, on the staff (Medal). Was senior sur¬
viving officer of the troops embarked in H. M.S. Birkenhead, which vessel was wrecked off Danger Point, Cape of Good
Hope, on the night of the 26th Feb. 1852. Promoted to the rank of Major and awarded a pension of lOOf. per annum for
distingmshed services;” and subsequently promoted to the rank of Lieut.Colonel for “ service in the field.*’
