19 Captain Clery served in India during the campaigns of 1857-58, and was present at the assault on the
fort of Beyt 2nd April 1858 (Medal).
21 Doctor Gorringe, in the 1st Dragoons, served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles
of Balaklava and Inkerman, siege of Sebastopol, night attack on Russian outposts 19th Feb., and expedi¬
tion to Kertch (Medal and three Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
22 Surgeon Lane served with the 80th Regt. in the Burmese War of 1852-53, including the attack on the
outpost of Tomboo and several operations in its vicinity (Medal). Also during the suppression of the Indian
Mutiny in 1858 and present at the action on the banks of the Jumna on the 5th March (Medal).
23 Assist,Surgeon Ekin served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp, and Turkish Medal).

17 Captain Oldfield served in the Indian campaign of 1857-58, and was present at the relief of Arrah
(wounded) and defeat of the Dinapore Mutineers at Jugdespore; with Havelock's force in the actions of
Mungarwar and Alumbagh, and defence of the latter until arrival of Lord Clyde; actions of La Martiniere
and relief of Lucknow ; with Outram’s force at the Alumbagh with repulse of numerous attacks, and opera¬
tions ending in the capture of Lucknow ; subsequently in the final campaign in Oude (Medal and Clasps,
and grant of a year’s service).
18 Captain Mason served during the suppression of the Indian mutiny in 1857-58, and was present with
Eyre’s force at the relief of Arrah (honorably mentioned) and capture of Jugdespore; accompanied Have¬
lock’s Column from Cawnpore in Sept. 1857 and was present in the actions of Mungarwar, capture of the
Alumbagh, assault of Lucknow and relief of the Residency, capture of the Cawnpore battery, sortie of the
29th Sept., capture of the Engine house and King’s stables; present with Ontram’s force throughout the
operations at the Alumbagh from Nov. 1857 to March 1858, including the action of Guilee and capture of
the enemy’s guns (Medal and Clasp, and grant of a year’s service).
19 Major Le Pelley served with the 75th Regt. during the Indian campaign of 1857-58, from the out¬
break on 12th May, including the battle of Budleekaserai, siege, storm and capture of Delhi, pursuit of
the enemy and actions of Bolundshuhur, Allyghur, Acrabad, Agra, Kanoj, advance into Oude and affairs
of Maragunge and Alumbagh, occupations after the relief of Lucknow of the fortified outposts and camp
with Outram’s force, and repulse of the enemy’s attacks (Medal and Clasps, and Brevet of Major).
20 Captain Creagh served throughout the Indian mutiny campaigns of 1857-59 and was present with
Havelock’s force at the assault and relief of Lucknow, subsequent defence of the Residency, occupation
of the Alumbagh under Outram, capture of Lucknow and subsequent operations in Oude, the greater
part of the time as Adjutant of the 5th Fusiliers (Medal with two Clasps, and one year’s service).
21 Captain Tyler served with Sir James Outram at the Alumbagh, was present at the capture of Luck¬
now, and throughout the Oude campaign of 1858-59, including the actions of Dounderkeira and Buxar-
ghat, and capture of the fort of Omereah (Medaland Clasp).
22 Captain Townshend served with the 46th Regt. the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 including the
battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, 5th Clast
of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
22f Capt. Mathew served In the expedition against the Doonqua rebels in June and July, 1859, and
commanded the detachment that surprised and seized the principal rebel chief in the town of Cormantin®
on the night of 30th June.
23 Major Forster was present at the capture of Lucknow and subsequent operations (Medal and Clasp).
24 Lieut. Massy joined Havelock’s Column at Cawnpore on 15th Sept. 1857 and was present in the
actions of Mungarwar and Alumbagh, assault on Lucknow and relief of the Residency, engaged thence at the
taking of the Cawnpore battery, and storming of the Engine House and King’s Stables; was subsequently
with Outram’s force in the Alumbagh and engaged in repelling the numerous attacks and in routing the
enemy on 22nd Dec.; also at the siege and fall of Lucknow (Medal and Clasps, and grant of a year’s service).
25 Lieut. Hoare served in the Indian Mutiny in 1858, including the operations in the Judgespore
Jungle (Medal.)
26 Lieut. Dashwood served with the 34th Regt. in the Indian campaign in 1857-58, including the affairs
with the Gwalior contingent at Cawnpore on 26th, 27th, and 28th Nov. 1857, capture of Meeangunge, siege
and capture of Lucknow, and relief of Azimghur (Medal and Clasp). Also in the 5th Fusiliers during the
Oude campaign of 1858-59.
27 Lieut. Cooch served in the campaign of 1858-59 in Oude (Medal).
28 Paymaster Manning served with the Buffs at the battle of Punniar. Also at the siege of Sebastopol in
1855 anti assault of the Redan on 8th Sept. (Medal and Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
29 Doctor Swettenham served with Havelock’s Column in the action of Mungarwar, attack and capture of the
Alumbagh, assault and relief of the Residency of Lucknow and its subsequent defence (wounded—grant of
a year’s service); present with Outram’s division throughout the occupation of the Alumbagh and the Sorties
thence, also at the capture of Lucknow by Lord Clyde, the subsequent campaign in Oude, including the action
of Buxar Ghat, Doondiakera, and other minor affairs (Medal and two Clasps, and grant of a year’s service).
81 Qr.Master Francis Drake served with Havelock’s column in 1857 in the action of Mungarwar, capture
of the Alumbagh, relief of the Residency of Lucknow and its subsequent defence (wounded); throughout
the operations at the Alumbagh under Outram, and at the final capture of Lucknow; also in the Oude
campaign of 1858-59, including the action of Buxarghat, capture of Omerah, and destruction of other
forts (Medal and Clasps, and grant of a year’s service).
32 Assist.Surgeon Hiffernan served with the 19th Regt. the Eastern campaign of 1854 and up to 8rd
July 1855, including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps, and
Turkish Medal.)
