218 Lieut. Eichardes served the campaign of 1815, and was present at the sieges of Maubeuge,
Philippeville and Landrecies.
219 Lieut. S. Eickmond served with the 49th in the American war and was present at the
action of Chrystler’s Farm, for which he has received the War Medal with one Clasp.
220 Lieut. John Eoberts (Eoyal Artillery Drivers) served at Corunna, in 1809; in Holland
in 1814, including the action at Merxem, and bombardment of Antwerp. Served also the cam¬
paign of 1815, and was present at th6 battles of Quatre Bras and Waterloo. He has received
the War Medal with one Clasp for Corunna.
221 Lieut. James Eobertson served in the Peninsula, and has received the Silver War Medal
with four Clasps for Corunna, Busaco, Fuentes d’Onor, and Salamanca. He served also the
campaign of 1815 with the 79th, and was severely wounded at Quatre Bras.
222 Lieut. James Eobinson served in the Peninsula with the 32nd and was present at the
battles of Salamanca, Vittoria, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, and Toulouse, for which he has received
the War Medal with six Clasps. He served also the campaign of 1815, and was severely
wounded at Quatre Bras.
223 Lieut. Adam Eogers served in the Peninsula and was present at the battle of Talavera,
for which he has received the War Medal with one Clasp.
224 Lieut. Rooke served at the battle of Trafalgar, for which he has the War Medal with
one Clasp. Served with the 2nd Bat. Eoyal Marines, duringthe War in North America, inl813-15.
225 Lieut. Ewen Ross served in the Peninsula with the 92nd, and was present at the
battle of Fuentes d’ Onor, siege of Badajoz, actions at Arroyo de Molino (severely wounded),
Almaraz, and Alba de Tormes. Also the campaign of 1815, and was severely wounded at
Quatre Bras. He has received the War Medal with one Clasp for Fuentes d’Onor.
226 Lieut. Eotely served in the Victory at Trafalgar (severely contused), and succeeded to the
command of the small arm men, on the death of Captain Adair, R.M. Employed blockading the
French squadron in the Chesapeake. Present at the capture of the Topaze, and the reduction
of Martinique, 1800. Actively employed in boat actions in North America and the West Indies,
and assisted at the capture of 100 armed and other vessels. War Medal with two Clasps.
227 Lieut. Rouse has thd War Medal with one Clasp for the battle of Copenhagen, 1801.
228 Lieut. Rutherford served in the Peninsula with the old 94th, and was present at the
defence of Cadiz in 1810, lines of Torres Vedras, pursuit of Massena, actions at Pombal, Redinha,
Condeixa, and Sabugal; battle of Fuentes d’Onor, second siege of Badajoz, battles of Vittoria,
Pyrenees, and Nivelle; passage of the Gave d’Oleron, battle of Ortbes, action of Vic Bigorre,
and battle of Toulouse. He has received the War Medal with seven Clasps.
229 Lieut. Gilbert H. Sanders served in the Austrian army in 1849-51 ; was present at the
battle of Novara, and served the campaign against Garibaldi in the Roman States, for which
he has a Medal. Served as Adjutant of the 30th Eegt. at the siege of Sebastopol in 1855 ;
was in the trenches at the attacks of the 8th and 18th June, and was twice severely and once
slightly wounded at the assault of the Redan on the 8 th Sept.—left leg amputated—mentioned
in Dispatches (Medal and Clasp, and Sardinian Medal).
230 Lieut. Sandwith assisted in cutting out a Turkish ship at Sigri in 1807 ; served in the 1st
Battalion Royal Marines, during the whole of the American War in 1813-15.
231 Lieut. R. F. Saunders served in the Peninsula with the 67th and was present at the
battle of Barrosa, for which he has received the War Medal with one Clasp.
232 Lieut.R.J. Saunders served the campaign of 1815 and was present at the battle of Waterloo.
233 Lieut. Sawkins served in the Peninsula with the 50th and was present at the battles of
Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, and Toulouse, for which he has received the War
Medal with six Clasps.
234 Lieut. Scobell served at the battle of the Nile (Medal), and in the Marine Battalion at
the capitulation of St. Elmo, Capua, and Gaeta, in 1799.
235 Lieut. David Scott has received the War Medal with three Clasps for Egypt, Martinique,
and Albuhera.
236 Lieut. Thomas Scott served in the Peninsula with the old 94th from Jan. 1810
to the end of that war in 1814, including the defence of Cadiz and Fort Matagorda,—
three times wounded; lines of Torres Vedras, pursuit of Massena, actions of Pombal, Redinha,
Condeixa, Ponte de Murilla, Guarda, and Sabugal; battle of Fuentes d’Onor, second siege
of Badajoz, actions at Oampo Mayor and El Bodon, siege and storm of Ciudad Rodrigo—
wounded at the assault; third siege and storm of the castle of Badajoz, action of San-
Christoval heights, covering the parties attacking the forts of Salamanca, battle of Salamanca,
capture of Madrid and the Retiro, retreat from Madrid into Portugal with the rear¬
guard, subsequent advance, battle of Vittoria, blockade of Pampeluna, battles of the Pyrenees,
Pampeluna, and Nivelle; actions of Vic Bigorre and Tarbes, and battle of Toulouse. He has
received the War Medal with nine Clasps.
237 Lieut. Sedley served the Waterloo campaign with the Royal Staff Corps.
238 Lieut. Alexander Smith, Royal Marines, has the War Medal with one Clasp for the
actions in Algesiraz Bay and the Straits of Gibraltar in 1801.
