5 Major Maitland and Captain Miller served the Eastern campaign of 1854, and early part of 1855,
including the battles of Alma and Balaklava, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and three Clasps).
6 Major M‘Barnet served throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma
and Balaklava, siege and fall of Sebastopol, assaults of the 18th June and 8th Sept., expedition to Kertch
and Yenikale (Medal and three Clasps).
7 Major Stevenson served throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma
and Balaklava, siege and fall of Sebastopol, assaults of the 18th June and 8th September, expedition to

8 Captain Percival served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and Balaklava,
siege of Sebastopol, assault of the 18th June, expedition to Kertch and Yenikale (Medal and three Clasps).
9 Captain Turner served throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and
Balaklava, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and assault of the 8th Sept. (Medal and three Clasps).
10 Captains Cuming and Currie and Quarter-Master McGill served throughout the Eastern campaign of
1854-55, including the battles of Alma and Balaklava, siege and fall of Sebastopol, assaults of the 18th
June and 8th September, expedition to Kertch and Yenikale (Medal and three Clasps, and 5th Class of the
Medjidie).
14 Captain McDonald, Lieuts. Mackesy, Allen, M‘Nair, Cleather, F. P. Campbell, McMurdo, and Alleyne
served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from July 1855, and assault of 8th Sept. (Medal and Clasp).
15 Paymaster Cant served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and Balaklava,
siege of Sebastopol, and assault of 18th June (Medal and three Clasps).
15f Lieut. Young served throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and
Balaklava, siege and fall of Sebastopol, assaults of the 18th June and 8th September, expedition to Kertch
and Yenikale (Medal and three Clasps, and Knight of the Legion of Honor).
16 Lieuts. Crawfurd, Neil Campbell, and Howkins, served at the siege of Sebastopol from July 1855
(Medal and Clasp).
17 Lieut. De Carteret served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from June 1855, including the assaults of
18th June and 8th Sept. (Medal and Clasp).
20 Surgeon Scot served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of Alma and siege of
Sebastopol (Medal and two Clasps, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
22 Assist.-Surgeon Drysdale served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and
Balaklava, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and three Clasps).
28 Assist.-Surgeon Roberts served with the 72nd Highlanders in the Crimea from 13th June 1855,
including the expedition to Kertch, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and attacks of the 18th June and 8th
Sept. (Medal and Clasp).

4 Major Ormsby served with the 80th Regiment during the Sutlej campaign of 1846, and was present at the affair of
Ruddiwal, and in the battles of Aliwal and Sobraon (Medal and one Clasp). Served during the Burmese war of 1852-3,
and was present at the assault and capture of Pegu on 4th June 1852, where he commanded the storming party ; com¬
manded at the Pagoda Hill stockade at Martaban on the night of the 18th July 1852, when attacked by the enemy ; and
was also at the capture of Prome (Medal).
5 Major Hawkes served in the Burmese war of 1852-53 as Brigade Major to the second Bengal Brigade, and was pre
sent at the relief of the garrison of Pegu, and in the subsequent operations against the enemy in that vicinity ( Medal).
6 Capt. Hardinge was present with the 39th Regt. in the action of Maharajpore on the 29th Dec. 1843 (Modal).
Served with the 80th Regt. the Sutlej campaign of 1845-6, including the battles of Moodkee and Sobraon (Medal and one
Clasp). Also in the Burmese war of 1852-53, and was present at the capture of Prome and subsequent night-attack of
the enemy on the heights. Commanded a detachment at the defence of the post of Toomboo, 22nd Dec. 1852, and at
several operations in its vicinity in Jan. and Feb. 1853. Present at the capture of the intrenched position of Tomah
and at the destruction of the force of Moung-Shoe-Moung (Medal).
7 Capt. Studdert served in the 9th Lancers during the campaign in 1843-4 against Gwalior, including the battle
of Punniar (Medal), and the investment and surrender of Gwalior.
10 Capt. Young served the campaign on the Sutlej with the 80th, including the battles of Moodkee, Ferozeshah, and
Sobraon (wounded) : Medal and two Clasps.
12 Captain Hume and Lieut. Sullivan served with the 80th Regt. in the Burmese war of 1852-53 (Medal), including
the bombardment and capture of Prome and subsequent operations. Lieut. Sullivan has the 4th Class of the Medjidie for
service in the late Turkish Contingent.
13 Major Miller served in the last Burmese war, and was engaged in the principal actions (Medal). Has
the 4th Class of the Medjidie for service with the late Turkish Contingent.
14 Captain Woods served with the Buffs in the action of Punniar, 29th Dec. 1843 (Medal).
17 Captains Smith, Nunn (wounded), and Amiel, and Lieut. Whitehead, served with the 80th Regt. in the
Burmese war of 1852, and were present at the capture of Martaban, operations before Rangoon on the 12th,
13th, and 14th April, and capture of the Great Dagon Pagoda (with the storming party), and capture of Prome
(Medal).
20 Lieut. Borrowes served in the Burmese war of 1853 as Adjutant of the 80th Regt. (Medal).
21 Surgeon Irwin was in medical charge of the 27th Regiment from the 1st July 1846, and during the
Kaffir war of 1846,47, 48 (Medal); and in medical charge of the 1st Division in the field, in the operations
under Major-General Hare, from July until November 1846.
