2 Colonel Smyth commanded the 68th Light Infantry throughout the Eastern campaign of 1864-56,
including the battles of Alma and Inkerman (horse killed), siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps,
CB., Officer of the Legion of Honor, Sardinian Medal, and 4th Class of the Medjidie).
3 Lieut.-Colonel Blount served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and
Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps, Brevet Lt.-Col., Knight of the Legion of
Honor, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
5 Major Morant served the Eastern campaign to the 8th Nov. 1854, including the battles of Alma and
Inkerman and siege of Sebastopol (fracture of right arm in the trenches). Served as Aide-de-Camp to
Br.-Gen. Shirley from 10th Sept. 1855 (Medal and three Clasps).
6 Major Savage served throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma,
Balaklava, and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps, Brevet Major, and 5th Class of
the Medjidie).
7 Captain FitzGerald served in the Anglo-Spanish Legion during 1835-37; was severely wounded in the
action of the 5th May near St. Sebastian, and has two Crosses and a Medal for his conduct and services.
8 Captains Cassidy and Shuttleworth served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of
Alma and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps). Captain Shuttleworth has the 5th
Class of the Medjidie.
9 Capt. FitzRoy served the Eastern campaign until sent home on promotion early in 1855, including
the battles of Alma and Inkerraan, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps, and 5th Class of the
Medjidie).
11 Captain Light served in the Eastern campaign of 1854, including the battle of Alma and siege of
Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps).
12 Lieut. Tucker served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and Inkerman,
siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps, and Knight of the Legion of Honor).
13 Captain Vicars served in the Crimea during the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp).
14 Lieut. Deshon served in the Crimea during the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 13th Nov. 1854
(Medal and Clasp).
15 Captain Grace, Lieuts. Sparke, Ethelston, Seymour, Blood, Clarkson, Nicholetts, and Thornton,
served in the Crimea during the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp). Captain Grace has also the
Sardinian Medal.
16 Lieut. Cox served with the Cape Mounted Riflemen throughout the Kaffir war of 1852-53, and was
present at the battle of Berea (Medal).
17 Lieut. Saunderson served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 2nd Dec. 1854 (Medal and Clasp, and
Sardinian Medal).
18 Quarter-Master Tunks served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and
Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps).
19 Surgeon O’Leary and Assist.Surg. Corbett served in the Crimea during the siege and fall of
Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
