1 Lord Sandys accompanied the loth Hussars to the Peninsula in 1812, and was present in the action at
Morales, and battles of Vittoria and Pampeluna. Served also the campaign of 1815, as an Aide-de-Camp to
the Duke of Wellington, and was present at the battle of Waterloo. Has received the Silver War Medal
with one Clasp for Vittoria.
2 Colonel Griffith served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, in command of the Scots Greys, including the affair oi
M'Kenzie’s Farm, battles of Balaklava (wounded in the head by a pistol-ball), Inkerman, and Tchernaya, siege and fall
of Sebastopol (Medal and three Clasps, CB., Sardinian Medal, and 4th Class of the Medjidie).
3 Lt.-Colonel Clarke served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the affair of M‘kenzie’s Farm, battles of Bala¬
klava (sabre cut on the neck), Inkeiman, and Tchernaya, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and three Clasps, Brevet
Lt.*Col., Knight of the Legion of Honor, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
5 Captain Buchanan served the Eastern campaign of 1854-£5, including the battles of Balaklava and Inkcrraan, and
siege of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps: also Sardinian Medal).
11 Captain Swindley served with the 12th Lancers in the Kaffir war of 1852-3 (Medal), and was at the action of the Berea.
Also the Eastern campaign from 9th May 1855, including siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp), and commanded
General Simpson’s escort in the Crimea.
12 Captains McNeill and Browne, and Assist.-Surgeon Rutherford, were at the battle of the Tchernaya, and the siege
and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps).
14 Lieut. Moodie and Qr.-Master M‘Bean served the Eastern campaign oi 1854-55, including the affair of M'Kenzie’s
Farm, battles of Balaklava, Inkerman, and Tchernaya, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and three Clasps, and 5th Class
of the Medjidie).
15 Surgeon Lockwood served with the 7th Fusiliers the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the
affairs of Bulganak and M'Kenzie’s Farm, battle of Alma, capture of Balaklava, battle of Inkerman, and
siege of Sebastopol; was present with the 8th Hussars at the battle of the Tchernuya (Medal and three
Clasps, and Knight of the Legion of Honor).
18 Paymaster King served with the 9th Lancers in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, and was present at
the passage of the Chenab at Ramnuggur, and battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat (Medal and Clasps).
