93 Major Dickson served the Eastern campaign of 1854 with the 30th Regt., including the
battles of Alma (severely wounded) and Inkerman ( wounded), siege of Sebastopol, and repulse
of the sortie of 26th Oct. (Medal and three Clasps, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
94 Major C. F. T. Daniell served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 as Brigade Major in the
3rd Division, including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and
attack of the 18th June (Medal and Clasps, Brevet Major, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and
5th Class of the Medjidie).
95 Major Bayly served in the Eastern campaign of 1854 with the 30lh Regt., including the
siege of Sebastopol, repulse of the sortie on 26th Oct. (wounded in the cheek), and battle of Inker-
man (severely wounded in the face and leg) (Medal and Clasps, and 5thClass of the Medjidie).
96 Major Greville served as Aide-de-Camp to Sir Harry Smith and to Sir George Cathcart
in the Kaffir war of 1851-53 (Medal), and was present at the battle of Berea. Served again as
Aide-de-Camp to Sir George Cathcart in the Eastern campaign of 1854, including the battles
of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman (where Sir George was killed), and siege of Sebastopol
(Medal and four Clasps, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
97 Major Maclean served with the 49th Regt. throughout the war with China (Medal), and
was present at the first taking of Chusan, storm and capture of the heights above Canton, attack
and capture of Amoy, second capture of Chusan, attack and capture of the heights of Chinhae,
occupation of Ningpo and repulse of the night-attack, attack and capture of Chapoo, Woosung,
and Chin Kiang Foo.

99 Major Duncan Campbell served in the 83rd Regt. during the suppression of the insurrection
in Lower Canada in 1837; also in repulsing the attacks of the American brigands who landed at
Prescott, Upper Canada, in 1838. Served with the 90th Light Infantry at the siege of Sebastopol
(Medal and Clasp).
100 Major Robert Watson served the campaigns of 1814 and 15 in Holland and the Netherlands,
including the actions at Merxem and bombardment of Antwerp.
101 Major Meheux served the Eastern campaign with the Brigade of Royal Marines during
the siege of Sebastopol from 1854 to April 1855, including the battle of Balaklava (Medal and
two Clasps).
102 Major Hume served with the 38th Regt. the Eastern campaign of 1854-55. and was
present at the battle of Alcaa, siege and fall of Sebastopol, was Aide de Camp to Sir John
Campbell on the expedition to Kertch, and assault of the Redan on the 18th June, in which
the Major General was killed; was D.A. A.G. 3rd Division from July 1855 (Medal and three
Clasps, Brevet Major, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and 5th Class of the Medjidie). Served
in India with the 38th from 12th Nov. 1857, to 9th August 1858 ; was present at the siege
and capture of Lucknow, and with Grant’s division during the summer campaign in Oude,
including several minor affairs.
103 Major Peel served with the 34th Regt. in the Crimea in 1854-55, including the siege of
Sebastopol and capture of the Quarries—severely wounded (Medal and Clasp, Brevet Major, and
5th Class of the Medjidie).
104 Major Elliot served five years in India, the last two on Lord Hardinge’s staff, prior to
entering the Royal Army, and was present with his regiment, the 8th Bengal Cavalry, at the
battle of Punniar (Medal), as also in the Sutlej campaign, including the battle of Ferozeshah
(Medal), Served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 as Aide-de-Camp to General Scarlett,
including the battle of Balaklava (severely wounded) and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and
Clasps, Brevet Major, and Knight of the Legion of Honor).
105 Major Maxse served the Eastern campaign of 1854 as Aide-de-Camp to Lord Cardigan,
including the battles of Alma and Balaklava (wounded), and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and
Clasps, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
100 Major Hugh Kennedy served with the R. M. Battalion in Spain during the Carlist war;
with the Baltic Expedition in 1854 (Medal); and with the Brigade in the Crimea during the
siege of Sebastopol from Feb. 1855 (Medal and Clasp).
107 Major Stcw'ard served with the 41st Regt. in the Eastern campaign up to 19th Oct. 1854,
including the battle of Alma, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and two Clasps, and 5th Class of
the Medjidie).
108 Major Whitmore landed in the Crimea with the 2nd Balt, on 22nd April 1855, and was
at the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp, Brevet Major, and 5 th Class of the Medjidie).
