67 Lieut.-Colonel Hawkins served with the 1st Battalion Royals the Eastern campaign of
1854 and up to 3rd July 1855, including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, and siege of
Sebastopol (Medal" and Clasps, Brevet Lieut.-Colonel, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
68 Lieut.Colonel Peel served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the affair of Bulganak,
battle of Alma and Tchernaya, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps, Brevet Lieut.Colonel,
and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
69 Lieut.-Colonel Beaufoy served with the 1st Battalion 27th Regt. in Sicily in 1810*; after¬
wards on the eastern coast of Spain from 1812 to 1814, and was present at the battle of Castalla
(contused), taking of Alcoy, battle of Villa Franca, and siege of Tarragona. After the con¬
clusion of the Peninsular War he embarked witli the Army for North America, and was present
at the battle of Plattsburg. In 1819 he embarked for the East Indies, and served afterwards as
an acting engineer at Sholaporc. Ho served also in Canada during the rebellion.
70 Lieut.-Colonel J. C. Macpherson served the Eastern campaign of 1854 with the 42nd
Highlanders, including the battle of Alma and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and two Clasps).
71 Lieut.Colonel the Hon. J. L. Browne served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 21st
Regt., including the battles in the Crimea and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps, and 5th
Class of the Medjidie).
72 Lieut.-Colonel Lardner served with the 47th Regt. in the Burmese war from Dec. 1824
until peace was proclaimed (Medal); also in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the
battles of Alma and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and three Clasps).
73 Lieut.-Colonel Adamson served with the 38th Regt. throughout the Eastern campaign of
1854 and up to the 25th Jan. 1855, including the battle of Alma and siege of Sebastopol,
and commanded in the 2nd parallel cf the Left Attack during its construction when a Russian
party attacked it and were repulsed—acted as Major of his Regiment, during ten months of the
Eastern expedition (Medal and Clasps for Alma, Inkerman, and Sebastopol).
74 Lieut.-Colonel Herbert served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles in
the Crimea and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and 5th
Class of the Medjidie).
74f Lieut.Colonel Villiers served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of
Alma and Inkerman, capture of Balaklava, siege of Sebastopol, sortie on 26th Oct., and storm¬
ing the Quarries on 7th June—severely wounded (Medal and Clasps, Brevet of Major and Lieut.
Col., Knight of the Legion of Honor, and Sardinian Medal).
75 Lieut.-Colonel Ramsay served with the 49th Regt. in China (Medal) and was present at
Amoy, Chusan, Chinhae, Ningpo, Segoan, Woosung, Chinkiangfoo, and Nankin.
76 Lieut.-Colonel Wakefield served with the 40th Regt. in Lower and Upper Scinde in 1839
and 40. He commanded the Grenadier Company during the whole of the operations in Can-
dahar and in Affghanistan in 1841 and 42, and has received the Medal for Candahar, Ghuznee,
and Cabool. He was also present in the action of Maharajpore, and has received the Bronze
Star. Served also the Eastern campaign of 1854, including the battle of the Alma and siege of
Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps).
77 Lieut.-Colonel Shuckburgh served with the 40th Regt. in the Peninsula, from 1811 to the
end of that war in 1814, and was present at the battle of Vittoria, the blockade of Pampeluna
from 3rd to 15th July; skirmishes from Roncesvalles to Pampeluna on the 25th and 26th July ;
attacks on the heights of Sorauren on the 28th and 30th July ; action of Irun, action of Vera on
the 7th Oct., battles of the Nivelle, Orthes, and Toulouse, besides various minor actions and
skirmishes. He has received the War Medal with six Clasps.
78 Lt.Colonel Jas. Richardson served as Adjt. of the Royals in the first Burmese war (Medal).
79 Lieut.-Colonel Cockcraft served with the 58th Regt. in the expedition against Kawiti’s
Pah at Ruapekapeka in New Zealand.
80 Lieut.-Colonel Jennings served with the 13th Regt. throughout the campaigns in Affghan-
istan from 1838 to 1842 inclusive, and was present at the storm and capture of Ghuznee (Medal),
assault and capture of the town and forts of Tootumdurrah, storm of Jhoolghur, night attack at
Baboo Koosh Ghur, destruction of Khardurrah, assault of Perwandurrah, storming of the
Khoord Cabool Pass, affair of Tezeen, forcing the Jugdulluck Pass, reduction of the fort of
Mamoo Khail, heroic defence of Jellalabad and sorties on the 14th Nov. and 1st Dec. 1841, 11th
March, 24th March, and 1st April 1842 ; general action and defeat of Akbar Khan before Jel-
alabad (Medal), storming the heights of Jugdulluck, general action of Tezeen, and recapture of
Cabool (Medal). Was severely wounded retiring into Jugdulluck with the rear-guard, 26th Oct.
1841, and slightly wounded in the general action before Jellalabad, 7th April 1842.
81 Lieut.-Colonel Bourke served with the 17th Regt. the campaign in Affghanistan of
1838 39, under Lord Keane, including the storm and capture of Ghuzuee (Medal) and of
Khelat. Served also at the siege of Sebastopol from Dec. 1854 to Feb. 1855 (Medal and Clasp,
and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
82 Lieut.-Colonel Neill served with the 41st Regt. throughout the operations in Candahar
and Affghanistan in 1841-42 (Medal).
83 Lieut.-Colonel Andrews served with the 28th Regt. at the siege of Sebastopol in 1854
(Medal and Clasp).
84 Lt.Colonel Crawley served with the 20th Regt. at the siege of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp).
