2nd Battalion.—Gules (crimson): In the centre the Thistle and the Red and White Roses conjoined,
issuant from the same stalk all proper, ensigned with the Imperial Crown. Motto, “ Unita Fortior ’ ; in
base the Sphinx superscribed “ Egypt"; in the dexter canton the Union.
