1 Colonel Weare served with the British and Russian army in Italy, in 1805; in Egypt, in 1807, against
the Turks, including the second attack on Rosetta, the capture of guns and camels on the right bank of the
Nile, and the retreat to Alexandria. At the reduction of the Islands of Ischia and Procida, in 1809; at the
taking of the Ionian Isles, in 1809 and 10; and during the siege of Santa Maura as an acting Engineer
Officer. In the Peninsula as aide de-camp to Gen. Sir John Oswald commanding the 5th Division, during
the campaigns of 181*2, 13, and 14, including the severe affair at Villa Muriel, the whole retreat from Burges,
the advance of 1813, affair of Osina, battle of Vittoria, both assaults and during the whole siege of San
Sebastian, battle of the Nivelle, and some of the affairs at the Mayor’s House in front of Bidart on the
Bayonne road. He has received the War Medal with three clasps fur Vittnria, St. Sebastian, and Nivelle.
2 Lieut..Colonel Kelly served on the expedition to Copenhagen, in 1807; at the capture of Martinique
in 1S09, and Gaudaloupo in 1810; the campaigns of 1813, 14, and 15, in Lower Canada, including the
actions at Chateauguay and Plattsburg. He has received the War Medal with two Clasps for Martinique
and Guadaloupe.

1 Colonel Taylor served in the Peninsula with the 9th, from Aug. 1808 to Feb. 1818, and again from Ocf«
1813 to the end of the war in 1814, including the battles of Vimiera (wounded), Busaco, and Salamanca,
retreat from Burgos, action of Villa Muriel (wounded), and repulse of the Sortie from Bayonne. He has
received the War Medal with four clasps for Vimiera, Busaco, Fuentcs d’Onor, and Salamanca.
2 Major Alves served the whole of the campaigns in Spain, Portugal, and France, of 1810, 11, 12, IS,
and 14, with the 74th in Picton’s division, witltout having ever been absent from it for a single day, includ¬
ing the battle of Busaco, retreat to the lines of Torres Vedras, occupation of them, and subsequent advance
in pursuit of Massena, actions at Pombal, Redinha, Foz d'Arouce, Guarda, and Sabugal, battle of Fuentes
d’Onor, siege of Badajoz in June 1811, actions at El Bodon ard Aldea de Ponte, siege and storm of Ciudad
Rodrigo, siege, storm and escalade of the Castle of Badajoz in March and April, 1812, battle of Salamanca,
capture of Madrid and the Retiro, affairs on the retreat from Madrid to Salamanca and Portugal in Nov.
1812, subsequent advance and passage of the Ebro, battle of Vittoria, blockade of Pampeluna, the battles in
the Pyrenees on the 27th, 28th, and SOtli July, battles of the Nivelle, the Nive, and Orthes, actions of Vic
Bigorre and Tarbes, and battle of Toulouse. He has received the W ar Medal with eleven clasps for Busaco,
Feuntes d’Onor, Ciudad Rodrigo, Badajoz, Salamanca, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, and
Toulouse.
3 Paymaster Fugion served in the Peninsula from July 1809 to the end of that war in 1814, including the
battle of Salamanca, siege of Burgos, and buttle of Orthes. He has received the War Medal with two Clasps
for Salamanca and Orthes.
