3 Colonel White served at the cap¬
ture of Hattrass in 1817, and during
the Mahratta campaigns of 1817 and
18 ; also at siege and capture of
Bhurtpore in 1825-6. Commanded a
Brigade throughout the campaign of
1842 in Affghanistan, for which he
appointed a CB. Again com¬
manded a Brigade of Cavalry in the
actions of Moodkee and Ferozeshah
(wounded) ; and the 3rd Drs. in the
battle of Sobraon.
Colonel Middleton served in the
West Indies with the Royals, in 1805
and 6; on the Staff with the army
which proceeded from Madras to the
Northern Mahratta country beyond
the Nerbudda River, in 1809 and 10;
with the 22nd Light Dragoons in
Java during 1811, 12, and 13, and
present at the affairs of the 10th
and 21st, and at the cavalry charge
which finally settled the conquest of
that valuable Island on the 26th
Aug. 1811, after the Fortress and
Lines of Cornelia had been forced.
Employed also at the taking of Djoc-
jocarta, and all the subsequent operations which took
place on that Island under the gallant Gillespie. Was
in the field with the 22d Lt. Dragoons in 1815 and 16,
and during the whole of the Mahratta war of 1817, 18,
and 19, and was present with the division of the late Sir
Thomas Munro at the capture of the Forts of Daumul,
Dorwar, Bedamme, Belgaum, and Shallapore, at which
last place he was severely wounded. He has received
the War Medal with one clasp for Java.
5 Lt.-Col. Lockwood commanded the 3rd Light Drs.
throughout the campaign of 1842 in Affghanistan under
General Pollock [medal and CB.], and was present at
forcing the Khyber Pass, storming the heights of Jug-
dulluck, action of Tezeen and Huftkotul, occupation of
Cabool, siege and capture of Istaliff.

1 Lord Charles Manners served the campaign of 1808 in Spain, including the cavalry engagement at Benevente. At Walcheren
as Aide-de-Camp to Lord Chatham, and was present at the siege of Flushing. Acted as Aide-de-Camp to the Duke of Wel-
* lington from 1811 until the army entered Madrid in 1812 ; when he assumed the command of the Regiment, and remained with
it until the war closed in 1814. His Lordship has received the gold medal and two clasps for Salamanca, Vittoria, and
Toulouse.

, 6 Major Fyler served w ith the 16th Lancers during the campaign in Affghanistan under Lord Keane, including the siege
and capture of Ghuznee (Medal). Also at the battle ol Maharajpore (Medal) 29 Dec. 1843, and in the campaign on the Sutlej
in 1846, including the battles of Buddiwal and Aliwal, at which last he was severely wounded by a musket shot whilst
charging a body of infantry.
12 Major Fisher did duty with the 11th Drs. as a volunteer at the siege and capture of Bhurtpore in 1825-6. He served with
the 3rd Drs. the campaign of 1842 in Affghanistan; as also in the battle of Moodkee (severely wounded), and Ferozeshah,
